The epitome of the GOP problem: Mark McKinnon
Self ^ | 09/13/2009 | Rushing Water

Posted on 09/13/2009 8:04:37 PM PDT by RushingWater

Republican strategist and former Bush advisor writes an article "Send Joe Wilson Home" and donates $1000 to Joe Wilson's opponent.

I have a radar that goes up when I come across something that identifies the source of the GOP's problems - especially the George Bush administration. There was so much potential - squandered. Why did he not pardon Ramos, Campean, Hernandez and Scooty Libby. Full pardons and not the partial pardon when he is walking out the door. Why did he not call the Democrats hand and always seem to wander in the squishy middle?

Well in the middle of the Joe Wilson debate, Mark McKinnon, former Bush advisor shows his true colors.

Read the summary from the Charlotte Observer below or the full ugly article he wrote here from the Daily Beast.

Summary from the Charlotte Observer, desperate to quote a Republican critical of Joe Wilson:

Mark McKinnon, a prominent Republican strategist based in Austin, Texas, who has advised President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain, called for Wilson's election defeat next year.

"That is the only way to change the political discourse in America today," McKinnon wrote Friday on www.thedailybeast.com. "Because as long as louts like Joe Wilson can spout off and call the president a liar and get rewarded with re-election, then louts will continue to spout off. And we will continue to claw our way to the very bottom of the political swamp."

It’s one of the things that made GWB such a bad president-—his inability to pick good people.

Isn’t this bozo the guy who jumped ship and went over to kiss Obama’s feet once Obama got the nomination?

I'm just wondering when Miss Meghan McCain will become his blushing beard bride, or does he already have one?

Why didn’t he do all of these things and more? Because he was a weak kneed, mushy wimp like his old man. Man I wish Cheney had been president instead!

IMHO McKinnon is a fraud.

He’s no Republican. Not even as much a Republican as McCain alleges to be.

He actually quit the McCain campaign because he didn’t want to oppose Obama. His words are meaningless.

“It’s one of the things that made GWB such a bad president-—his inability to pick good people.”

He picked the sort of people that reflected his own views. The fault was his own.

The Obama state media is trying to pawn this Registered Democrat off as a Republican anything . This creep is the Democrat Strtegist whose employee gave the Bush debate tapes to the Gore team. He quit the Mccain camp because he was a Dem who supported Obama . previous to Bush , he worked for only Dems on the Hill.
Why does the State media think it can pawn off fraud as part of the GOP. His entire career has been on the Dem side and has never voted for the GOP.

NO question. The fault was definitely his own. I didn’t mean to suggest otherwise. Maybe rather than say his inability to pick good people, I should say his habit of picking bad people.

All GOP administrations have a few turncoats in them. They are people who came to DC as Republicans and are not mentally nor emotionally strong enough to resist the dominant view in the city. The often come from places where the GOP was the dominant party.

It happened with the best president of my adult life, G.W. Bush. It happened with the second best GOP president of my adult life Reagan. It happened with the third best president of my adult life, G.H.W.Bush. I happened with Ford, Nixon and probably Ike though I am too young to remember the latter presidency.

And they show themselves with moves like giving money to the opponent of the GOP hero of the moment. He almost surely dislikes Gov. Palin too.

Mike Murphy, Matthew Dowd, and Mark McKinnon were political consultants for Dubya. Now these 3 consultants fawn over Obama. The bad three are talking heads on the various news shows who are supposed to represent the conservative view point. When unaffiliated voters see these guys on tv, is it any wonder why conservatism gets a bad rap?

That Mark McKinnon. He is worse than Arlene Specter, and about as worth listening to as a worm.
He is of no consequence.

HIs argument would at least be less hypocritical if he didn’t refuse to work against Obama after Obama lied repeatedly in last year’s election.
