House lawmakers are poised to introduce legislation that would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
The law, which was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1996, defines marriage as between a man and a woman, and prevents same-sex married couples from receiving the same federal benefits as heterosexual married couples.
Reps. Jerold Nadler (D-N.Y.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), and Jared Polis (D-Colo.) -- who is the first openly gay member elected to the House -- plan to introduce a bill this week that would scrap DOMA. Baldwin is also gay.
In the 13 years since the bill was signed into law, four states Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, and Vermont have recognized same-sex marriages. In 2010, New Hampshire will likewise change its marriage laws to recognize same-sex marriage.
President Barack Obama during his 2008 campaign promised a full repeal of the DOMA.
In June, Obama announced a package of domestic partnership benefits for federal workers. However, the president did not extend full health benefits to same-sex couples, drawing strong criticism from gay leaders.
Defending his position of extending only certain benefits to same-sex couples, Obama said, Unfortunately, my administration is not authorized by existing federal law to provide same-sex couples with the full range of benefits enjoyed by heterosexual couples.
Obama added, Thats why I stand by my long-standing commitment to work with Congress to repeal the so-called Defense of Marriage Act Its discriminatory, it interferes with states rights, and its time we overturned it.
The three House lawmakers are scheduled to unveil their bill at a press conference on Tuesday.
What better time to do it than when we have a bisexual president in the White House?
If the leftist Democrats in Congress keep up proposing or passing these types laws, we the general public in America just may decide to vote out such congress critters. Call me silly, but I think I saw about 500,000+ of we the public on TV in D.C. 9/12 protesting about similar moves by our government.
“A commercial should be made with the entire montage of the socialist, anti-American, agenda that these RATs are trying to shove down the throats of Americans...”
Forward your comment to the fools at the GOP/RNC and maybe they will do this the month after they lose again in 11/2010. I’m saying the opposition has no idea what to do with these gifts by the left.
They seem to be known for politically motivated violence. This is not your 50's era black sit-in crowd.
Now, now, Barack Obama may be accused of lots of things, but I’ve never heard he was a gender bender.

Massachusetts is bad news.
Cover page of 135 page report from MassResistance. I think they may be gilding the lilly a bit. I don't consider them as reliable as even World Net Daily, I'm afraid, and think their fantastic claims do us more harm than good....transgender/transsexual activists... want to offer your children on the bloody altar of transsexuality -- pulling them into sex-change operations involving unimaginable bodily mutilations and hormonal manipulations. ...
The culture of death has created a compulsion in the souls of the homosexual radicals and their "trans" allies, driving them ever further into new perversions. There is no bottom to this pit of depravity, and they will drag many innocent victims along with them: the young, the lonely, the psychologically and physically wounded, the confused including some of your children and grandchildren, family, friends and neighbors. There will be no safe haven. You cannot cocoon in your homes or churches. Our public schools, businesses, public accommodations (which may include churches), your employers and insurers, will all be forced to yield to yet-undefined perversions, protected by law.
Since same-sex marriage is genuinely harmful, we should be able to enumerate just how badly the institution of marriage itself has been damaged in Massachusetts. Such metrics as increased divorce rate, higher numbers of single parent families, lowered number of true marriages, that kind of thing. Objective tests. The damage should be obvious by now, the data incontrovertible. Is MSM hiding it? Can't some conservative group collect this data from an objective source? We need those figures to justify DOMA.

Obama talking about states rights? He needs to find out about states rights and the 10th Amendment.
Tammy Baldwin (Democrat from Madison, WI) is an “out” lesbian. She actually listed “LGBT” as her “religion” in a survey of members of Congress a few years back.
It’s misleading that they refer to Jared Polis (Democrat from Boulder, CO) as “the first openly gay member elected to the House.” Even if they exclude those that didn’t come out of the closet until after their initial election (but were subsequently reelected), such as Barney Frank, I thought that Tammy Baldwin was already openly lesbian when she was first elected. Maybe not, or maybe The Hill doesn’t deem “gay” to include both males and females with same-sex preference.
I really, really hope that these ultraliberals push a repeal of DOMA, since it will result in even more states adopting marriage-protection constitutional amendments and will revive the movement to adopt a Federal Marriage Amendment. The only risk is that Obama will then speak out against the repeal of DOMA in an attempt at a “Sister Souljah moment” and have people be fooled into thinking that he’s a “moderate” after all. But there is abbsolutely no way that DOMA will be repealed in this Congress.
Gay people have always been distrusted on account of their propensity for violent behavior. Sooner they come out and display that side the sooner they can be subjected to some serious beatdowns.
Larry Sinclair thinks Obooboo is sweetheart, a bit rough, but a real babe. I don’t know what Michelle thinks about him.

I want to thank you for your heartbreaking post. I had to set aside the time to read the many links thoroughly. Now I feel so sad on behalf of all those parents who cannot afford any alternative to the schools there. That the government participates so actively in GBLT recruitment is a profound violation of the First Amendment rights of religious believers to raise their own children. So very sad. I appreciate your having taken the time to post those links. Others should read them with extreme caution.
Thank you for your reply. May God deliver your state from this assault on children.
