This piqued my interest, so I determined from the length & direction of the shadow of the Washington monument in the pic on the left that the Sun was at approx. S 16 deg W - Azimuth, at an elevation of about 12 degrees. This corresponded to its position at about 5:30 PM on 10/4/97, date of the Promise Keepers.

Even if it were sunny yesterday, the shadow would have been a lot shorter at that azimuth (~ 5 PM) in DC.

Also there's no sign of the new Capitol visitors center in the back of the photo on the left. It looks slightly different back there now.
