Yet Fiesta's enduring popularity and strong sales even as consumers cut back are helping to keep struggling Homer Laughlin China Co. afloat. It's the last major dinnerware producer that makes its products in the U.S., as competitors have shut down or moved offshore.

Don’t worry, some sort of ceramic or plastic tax will drive them away. The Zero can do anything
I will look for that brand,Shame a lot of good American china manufactures are gone.
You'd better sit down for this, lad. The pigment in red Fiestaware contains, among other things, uranium oxide. The Homer Laughlin China Company, which began making Fiestaware in 1936, was forced to discontinue the red version in 1943 so the uranium could be diverted to make atom bombs.
Gives you pause, no? Well, don't get too alarmed. The actual amount of radioactivity is extremely low--less than the normal background radiation you get from rocks and stuff. Homer Laughlin says they've kept tabs on the workers who used to make Fiestaware--who obviously were at greater risk than the end users--and they've never detected any unusual health problems.

Needless to say...I am perfectly normal in every way (don’t tell my hubby I said that or he might pull a Joe Wilson on me)!
Regards,
I have it for my casual dishes. Red and the Orange ones.
It’s fabulous, keeps its color, the glazing is excellent and it wears and wears.
Big plus: I don’t have to worry about exactly what is in the glaze or the clay.
Very cost effective too. Not expensive at all.
For our anniversary last week my sweetie trudged out to Macy’s and added the ivory and chocolate sets to our already HUGE collection.
Yep we have the bug alright!
All of my serving bowels and platters are of this brand, excellant stuff.
Adding to my wishlist! (I have to admit my everday stuff is made in England. Shhhhh.) Will definitely buy some of this, now.
Radioactive dinnerware goes well with candlelight dinners.
Eewww...
“Radioactive dinnerware “ keeps the food warm longer!
Hey, this is made in Newewll, WV! I’ve just found another road trip to take!
Eewww...
Well, serving bowels are better than mastering bowels.
LOL had to read it twice to understand your answer..
Cuts down on the lighting bills.
Urk....
Donchya hate when that happens?
Back in the 1950’s the local movie theatre still gave pieces of Fiesta ware and Carnival glass as door prizes on Saturdays as an inducement to buy a movie ticket. They also had some kind of a deal where you could buy additional pieces to match anything you won.
