And guess which company will take it in the shorts the most? GM? Did it’s sales benefit much during the Cash for Clunkers program? No, the foreign auto makers did. Now GM will suffer the dead zone, all the sales already having been made from foreign auto dealers.

I’m flumoxed and gobsmacked. Never in a million years would I suspect that running a subsidized firesale would move future sales into the present AND depress future sales when prices rose.
