What about a reading of the Declaration of Independence at each of the original locations by volunteers on the dates each reading occurred? That might be neat.
“It’s a lie. Those pics showing hundreds of thousands of people were photoshopped”!/Psycho-lib
I was there, being fortunate enough to not live that far away. I kept asking people where they were from - California, Nevada, Arizona, Minnesota, Tennessee. I heard second-hand of someone there from Alaska (and I don’t believe her name was Sarah). One lady carried a sign saying (figures are approximate but not that far off): gas: $236; hotel: $484, meaning that she had come from far away and was wiling to pay all that money and spend the time to go to the demonstration. The sound system could have used some improvement, but the organizers probably did not anticipate a crowd that size. For what this is worth, I was interviewed and filmed by the French press on the way to the Capitol.
Let’s keep the momentum going.
IMHO, that looks more like the Promise Keepers in 1997 to me.
Awesome thread. I just wish I could have gone. Next time...
Or the morons at the Metro who decided to do ‘maintenance’ on the Orange, Yellow and Blue lines yesterday. Added at least 30 minutes to the trip in and the trip home.
Nice try, lefties. It didn’t work, did it?
Fabulous and very telling photos — no one can ‘deny’ this event took place, yet they still try. Local papers here in L.A. (more moderate than LA Slimes) refused to put anything on front page and instead relegated the story to page 16 with NO photo at all and tens of thousands described as being in D.C. They emphasized Hitler mustaches on Zero’s photos and other more controversial signage, not what most of us routinely saw yesterday. Nice way to spin it, you ‘in the tank for Zero’ jerks.
Here in L.A. the 912 group had a few thousand at federal building on Wilshire and it was fantastic — Wilshire is heavily traveled and most of the horns honking were in our favor. Interestingly, drivers of business trucks, many from small businesses, were most enthusiastic. Makes sense.
Hope we do this more often — let’s not wait — keep the pressure on.
I want to know who gave CNN permission to park their bus so that it blocked the mall view of the Capital. It also blocked the sound and made the rap concert at the Washington Men louder than the protest speakers.
"Say what?! Them racist white devils got 3 million? That's impossible. In the name of Allah and Obama I demand a recount!"
the only thing I can say...wow !!!! isn’t great to be a an american patriot
Said the same thing in my post at 45. Exept I thought it was 1997...Stand in the Gap.
I don’t think that picture is from yesterday? Notice the huge speakers down the Mall?
The only reason we still take this paper is for the word puzzles.
I used to feel the same but now I just download for free the Jumbles, Sudoku and crosswords. Some I play online and others I’ll print out to play at other times.
I know a bunch of us are going in the summer of 2010 and will make it coincide with whatever 912/Tea Party event is held in that time frame.
We're going to deliver our petition to Congress.
that picture is incredible..it should have the Dems shaking in their shoes as they think about 2010. Whas the right of the monument blocked off. Curious as to why there were so many on one side and so few on the other.
LOL!
