Clarice Feldman The federal government should review all tax returns prepared by ACORN tax preparers (and all loan applications prepared by ACORN -- but that is a separate review process).
That the IRS knows who these people are is suggested by this article, which I suppose was repeated throughout the country:
... ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) Tax and Benefits Centers in Hartford and Bridgeport are ready to assist CT Taxpayers. ACORN has partnered with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Preparation (VITA) program to provide free tax preparation for low and moderate income taxpayers who cannot afford traditional paid preparers. The ACORN Tax Preparation Centers can electronically file current year taxes and provide fast, direct-deposited refunds, usually in 7 - 10 working days. For more information please follow this link: http://www.taxandbenefitcenters.acorn.org/ or call Nicholas Graber-Grace to make an appointment at (860)523-1017 or e-mail ctacorn@acorn.org.

I believe that the govt has to pay people who find tax violations and report them.Might be a nice way to make money.
I think that the ACORN loan facilitators get paid for each loan they make—do they share it with the organization and with the tax preparers who are telling the applicants to lie and helping them file false returns?
Perhaps, but I don't believe that Obama will for a minute abandon this group. They'll pop up somewhere else, in a way that could cause just as much damage as they might have caused doing work for the Census Bureau. Don't forget, ACORN goes by some other name, now. We need to watch the Census Bureau going forward to make sure that they don't try some backdoor move to work with these criminals.
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is the nation’s largest community organization of low- and moderate-income families, with over 450,000 members organized into more than 1,000 neighborhood chapters in 103 cities across the country.
During the last tax season, ACORN Centers connected more than 42,000 families to $46 million in refunds, including $28 million in earned-income and child tax credits. Families who took advantage of ACORNs services saved an estimated $5.2 million in commercial tax preparation fees.

ACORN is the civilian muscle arm of the Federal government.
