CHICAGO (AP) – A week before one of ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's closest advisers was to go to prison for fraud, the commercial roofing contractor died at a Chicago hospital, and the mayor of a town where he was found said the death was being investigated as a suicide.

An autopsy was planned Sunday for Christopher G. Kelly, 51, who was discovered Friday night in a lumber yard parking lot in Country Club Hills, a town just southwest of Chicago. Kelly died Saturday morning, authorities said. Advertisement Abelink Summer Connection Showdown

Kelly grew up in Champaign and graduated from Central High School in 1976 and the University of Illinois in 1980.

Prosecutors hoped Kelly would try to reduce his mounting federal prison time by agreeing to cooperate and tell them what he knew about corruption in state government under Blagojevich.

Didn't see this posted. It has quit a bit more detail than some of the earlier articles. Small town boy goes to the big city and gets involved in local, state & national politics, etc.

We saw this already with those close to Bill Clinton who got off the reservation...can’t help but wonder how much this guy knew about Obama and his relationship with the Chicago/Illinois Democratic machine?

Quite interesting. I didn’t know Kelley, except around the corner. An acquaintance went to high school with him. Might see the acquaintance in church this morning.

As Special Agent Gibbs says: "There's no such thing as coincidence."

Who owned the lumber yard and why was he there?
Who found him, and under what circumstances?
When did Blago talk to him last?
Since Blago emailed Fox News around 3am to say he was not going to be interviewed later Saturday morning, was this email before or after Blago was informed of the "discovery" of Kelly?
Did anyone else know about Kelly's apparent ingestion of aspirin?
Since this episode did not happen in Chicago, who is investigating the scene?
Since he was going to be a key witness in a Federal case, what is FBI's involvement in processing the scene?
Was it even considered and processed as a crime scene?
Was he conscious enough to give a statement, what was time of call versus time of death?

Yea, we had one of them suicides, 4 rifle shots to the back, then crawled into a trash sack and threw himself into the pond. Must have been really despondent.

The money to Kelly to Blago to Rezsko to Obama, follow the money.

The bagman gets the dirt nap.

I'll check the media coverage on this & get back to you with the answers.

There are probably more coincidences in Illinois than any state in the nation—except, maybe New Jersey.

He didn’t commit suicide.

He was forced to take a bunch of aspirin, then repeatedly punched in the stomach (causing internal bleeding).

He owed the LV gambling casinos a bunch of money, and wasn’t going to be able to pay up.

The Mob did what they always do.

Thanks for the information. The aspirin didn't seem to make sense since last night someone posted that fatalities from aspirin overdoses were about 2%. Didn't seem to be a very effective way to commit suicide.
