Facts Are Stubborn Things
Democrats Yank Middle Class Tax Relief from National Energy Tax Bill Wednesday, June 24, 2009
* In the middle of the night, Democrats yanked any energy tax relief for American families from their National Energy Tax bill (the cap-and-trade scheme under Waxman-Markey) and replaced it with a further expansion of their welfare program --- energy stamps.
* This change renders the recent CBO analysis of net household cost from the Democrats National Energy Tax obsolete, because CBO included the benefits of the previously proposed tax relief in its analysis.
* The Democrats National Energy Tax will result in higher costs for millions of American families for virtually every good and service they need.
o Over 70% of Americans are ineligible for the Democrats new welfare program.
o That means over 200 million Americans will pay higher costs but won't receive any tax or other relief from the Democrats National Energy Tax.
o A family of four with income over $33,000 per year will be a loser under the Democrats plan. Such families would receive too little welfare benefits and no tax credits to offset the negative effects of the Democrats National Energy Tax.
* House Democrats National Energy Tax violates President Obamas pledge not to raise taxes on families making less than $250,000.
* The National Energy Tax also breaks Speaker Nancy Pelosi's pledge that the legislation would not raise costs for American families.
Ping - my first post in a long time.
“replaced it with a further expansion of their welfare program -— energy stamps.”
I’m afraid to ask how one qualifies for energy stamps.
that’s because they are LIARS.....all of them
Yep...who couldn’t see this one coming?
And this is the thing with Dhimmis, they will deny deny deny then at the end of the day, do exactly what they said they would not.
If you have to ask what the qualifications are for a welfare program... then you’re not qualified.
If bambi wants a crisis people, I think it's time we give him one that will break hm for good.
We need a leader, a God driven leader (Sarah) that offers clear and distinct alternatives to the current madness coming out of Washington. Beck called it cancer. I call it a contagious cancer and it needs to be quarantined.
and destroyed
If dems can nationalize health care they 'll do the same - big promise to help "everyone" then the reality that the middle class pays for the same old, same old to benefit.
Inflation, and higher taxes have not hit home yet and where hotter than hell, wait till this ever comes to pass. I pity the poor fools!
Energy Stamps so that the same people who dine on food stamp paid for steak and lobster can bask in their 80 degree homes, while the rest of us who pay for it have to be content to walk around in sweaters in our 60 degree homes.
Being poor is a very lucrative profession these days.
Lucky you!! 60 degrees! Wow! 52 degrees here in winter - just enough heat to keep the funiture from warping.
Nope, we’re keeping our eyes on this and on Comprehensive Immigration Reform. You can see signs at the Tea Parties attacking cap and trade. Not on the front burner, but not forgotten, as the bailouts and stimulus bill aren’t forgotten either.
Just another aspect of the corruption in Washington.
Deception about what is in legislation passed. There are many ways that this is done, from the way the Bills are titled, to inserting short phrases that serve to negate the intent people hope the bill has, and referring to other legislation that you have to refer to in order to understand the bill.
Corruption by ALL politicians must cease- whether it is misusing funds, writing bills, buying votes in some way or another, accepting bribes of any type, voting themselves privileges, excepting themselves from legislation, etc.
Corruption must cease. This is not a Democrat or Republican position. It must be an American position.
probably...nice to see you back friend!
(Are they insane, stupid or just evil?)
All of the above !
