First, go to the following link... it is a page that lists all comments by anyone on any thread in chronological order. Many people like to follow all comments on all threads at once to find comments or threads that interest them. Refresh the page and you will see the latest comments.
http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/*/index?tab=comments
Making the comment “Bump to the top” or BTTT causes the title of the thread (which is a clickable link) to appears at the top of this list, and it implies that the thread is worthwhile and deserves attention again at the top of the list.
It also makes it easy for me to find the thread again later, as it will appear on the page that lists my own comments and those made to me, like this...

The Communist/Marxist/Leftist Coercive Utopia is when the ruling elitist class have the peasants under their thumb living in luxury by the means of the peasant’s fruit of their labor.
Awesome, MUST-READ, informative article. Thank you very much.
Obama is a radical communist Muslim. Word must get out.
Are you serious?
Every time we submit a post, the new post goes to the top of the lists of “read latest posts”. “Bump to the top”, abbrevieted as “bump” or “bttt” just means that the person found the article so useful or interesting, he is responding for the purpose of pushing the article back to the top of the post list so others will see it.
If you don’t “bump” articles, they float down the list and get lost.
Articles that are generating a lot of replies don’t need to be bumped because they are constantly being refreshed to the top of the list where people coming on to FreeRepublic will come across them. But it is common for people who don’t want to make a reply to a thread, but still want to refresh the thread to bring it to a top, to just post “bump” or “bttt”.
Another different trick is if you don’t have the immediate time to read a long article, you post in it, and it gets added to your “comments” list where you can easily find it for later reading, rather than paging through a dozen pages to find it again.
Excellent article...save.
Truly excellent post!!
Captures exactly the forces, agenda and goals that animates this administration and more specifically the utopian movement.
It is marxism through the back door — and now... now they made it inside the house!!
We are at the Rubicon!
Thanks for the ping and BTTT !!
bttt
Thanks deks!
I didn’t know about the chronological list of comments.
I wonder if a lot of people actually use that view to read FR.
BTTT
BUMP
I think he coined a new word... commiczar. Commy czar... communist czar, or it could be like commissar, a communist party official, from the Russian komissar.
Oh, the author is Mrs. Isaac. Good article.
