You’ve stepped into a minefield when you kvetch about parents having influence at schools. I hope you realize that.

I'm not talking about parents having influence in school, as in being heard and considered, interested and helpful. I am talking about them having slots on the actual board deciding personnel matters, spending, curriculum, etc.

As a teacher, I once had a conference with a parent whose child was flunking English-8th grade. He shrugged and said"I flunked English, and it ain't never hurt me none." This parent should sit on the decision making board? LOL
