There was not a million people there. Probably between 200,000 to 400,000. Compared to other events, it looked about as crowded as the million man march. Still an amazing showing.

This was in the greatest recession (I consider it a depression) since the Great Depressio. Gas is high, home prices falling and people are out of work. Looking at the context of the times, this is VERY impressive.

Michelle Malkin is reporting that the Metro police estimated about 1.2 million and D.C. parks and rec estimated 1.5 million.
