The mainstream media has long asserted that there is no such thing as a liberal bias when it comes to their coverage. This is an absurd statement. The mainstream media has long asserted that there is no such thing as a liberal bias when it comes to their coverage. This is an absurd statement. It is every bit as absurd as the Fox News Channels Fair and Balanced slogan. Lets get real. All media is biased. Front page news for today is another example of this bias. Virtually no one is covering todays planned conservative protest rally in D.C.
Today, in Washington D.C. thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, maybe more, angry, frustrated, mad-as-hell conservatives are gathering to rally against government waste, government intrusion into private lives, the current perceived move toward Socialism, over-taxation, you name it.
Sounds like a pretty big deal right now, doesnt it?
Weve just witnessed an August where members of the U.S. Congress ran, literally ran, (Lloyd Doggett) through the parking lot at Town Hall meetings to escape the ire of their angry constituents. Then we saw the spin response from Dems; Astro turf movements, paid for by GOP and Others, and on and on.
The biased media chose their respective sides: Fox covered the town hall meetings from the bias of presenting these groups as every day citizens choosing to exercise their rights to free speech (as did this publication). Everyone else in the mainstream media, and I do mean everyone else, chose to read from the talking points memos issued by the DNC, the Obama administration, Reid and Pelosi.
Now those protests, those movements, are culminating in one more giant expression of free speech: a march upon Washington D.C. In addition to the march on D.C. there will be literally hundreds of rallies all over the U.S. today in small towns and big cities in virtually every state.
The Tea Party Express, a bus filled with protestors heading for the rally in D. C. left Sacramento, California some time ago and has been making its way across our great land. In so doing the Tea Party Express has made stops in big cities and small towns from California, to Texas to Vermont. Everywhere they stop theyre greeted by hundreds (in some cases) to thousands (in most cases) of protesters who support the movement.
Thus far, theyve been accompanied by one lone TV news crew, that from Fox.
Why?

Thus far, theyve been accompanied by one lone TV news crew, that from Fox. Why? They obviously do not merit the attention Cindy Sheehen got every time she farted.

The best way to get the media's attention?
Rally in front of THEIR studios and offices!

Here is one thing we can do. Monitor the advertisers on these state-run media channels and then prepare a list to be posted on FR. Then we let them know we are no longer purchasing their products.

If I’m not mistaken, MSNBC is planning on covering Obama’s Health Care rally in Minnesota today from 1 to 3. That’s according to my tv guide menu.

But that’s what msm (controlled media) IS!
I don’t consider anything unless it’s off the net—and damn little of that.

Live streaming of the protest on some remote site is not “covering” the protest. Something like that gets a few hundred viewers.

Rally in front of THEIR studios and offices I have been saying that for months on here. Maybe someone will listen because it is the only way to get them to realize that the people want to be heard. Bombard their offices with flyers, and faxes and have protesters on the sidewalks in front of their doorways. They can't pretend we don't exist then.
Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, et al still are saying they haven't "heard" about this...and they will, until it is reported in the major liberal papers and networks. That is all they read, those are the people they control. If we make the media people sift through our crowds in front of their buildings, they can't pretend we don't exist, and neither will the socialist bureaucrats be able to do so either.

Well written article. The writer gives a shout out to FreeRepublic as the place to go for conservative news. The Cyprus Times earned itself a few new daily readers.

This is ridiculous! There isn’t even anything on Drudge! The traffic cams Im pulling up arent showing anything (!?) WND and MM are the only 2 sources I’ve found...Fox has no sound on their live stream. I can’t believe this number of people in DC are being ignored.

It is every bit as absurd as the Fox News Channels Fair and Balanced slogan I disagree. One doesn't have to be unbiased to be fair and balanced. Fox's editorial bias, as evidenced by their opinion programming, is conservative, but they ARE fair and they ARE balanced. All their shows have liberals on to debate. But check out MSNBC's programming. Does Countdown ever have Newt or some other conservative talking head? Does Maddow? No. They are chicken.
It's ok to have a point of view. But be honest about it, and be open to debate. That's what FOX does. They are fair and balanced.

TAKE ACTION NOW - NO MORE SITTING ON THE SIDELINES
The thing we have to do now, without any hesitation, is vote out this current Congress in 2010. Then take back our Nation in 2012. If we do not mobilize ourselves and others now to do this in ways far beyond where most of us have ever engaged in political matters, we will lose this country. And have ourselves to blame.
FRIENDS, WE CAN NO LONGER JUST 'PREACH TO THE CHOIR' -- WE MUST CARRY THIS MESSAGE TO ALL WE KNOW AND ACT NOW. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
