Obama: Out of Frying Pan, Into the Fire

It's "silly season" according to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. You know silly season. It's the time when all of the ridiculous stuff the administration is doing gets revealed - no matter how little the media actually reports any of it.

For the president, the season is fall, when leaves and White House plans plummet to earth with equal abandon. In less than a week, three major Obama initiatives have fallen apart. And those three serve as the backdrop to Obama's latest attempt to get health care reform back on track. But no matter what he says Wednesday night, things are about to get worse for Barack Obama because the tea party patriots are back and coming to D.C. Sept. 12.

he 9-12 protests, as they are being called, aren't just focusing on Washington. Organizers vow, "We will be one voice, demanding that Congress restore fiscal responsibility to our national budget. We will remind Congress, the president, and our fellow citizens what limited government and free markets can do." They need the reminder. No one in D.C. remembers what that means.

According to Michael Patrick Leahy, one of the tea party organizers, "the 9-12 event in Washington will be but one of 100 such events throughout the country where grassroots Americans speak out." He ought to know. He's speaking at one in Illinois.

The major media and the White House pretty much ignored the tea parties the last time - until they decided to bash them. But the momentum of protest is on the right side, so this event could have even more impact knocking the Obama express off track.

For the administration, this latest round of protest couldn't come in a worse season. The most recent round of Obama's failing presidency started Friday with the latest unemployment numbers. There are 216,000 more people who don't believe White House claims about the economy. That's the number of jobs lost last month, taking the total for Obama's brief reign to more than 3 million. Unemployment continues to rise - now at 9.7 percent.

That news is bad enough, but the administration makes it worse. The White House claims "the recovery act is working." They consistently celebrate the $787 billion stimulus package as being, well, stimulating.

Many unemployed know this to be bogus. Even Minnesota's New Flyer bus factory that VP Joe Biden had promoted as "an example of the future" laid off 320 people. Who knew Biden would finally be correct about something - in just six months? New Flyer is a good example of the future where unemployment is predicted to hit over 10 percent, and the pricey U.S. stimulus isn't doing nearly as well as less expensive stimulus packages in saner nations.

One day later, Obama's Van ran out of gas. After weeks of information about just how goofy Obama's green jobs czar really is, Jones resigned in the middle of the night. I say "information," because the only news outlet that covered how bad a whack job Jones is was Fox News. The broadcast networks and top newspapers weren't just late to the party, they didn't even show up. And Jones snuck out of town more desperately than anyone since the despised Irsay family stole the Baltimore Colts - also in the middle of the night.

Sneaky politicians bury their mistakes on a Friday afternoon. The sleazy Obama administration deep-sixed this embarrassment at midnight on a Saturday night. That's about as much transparency as I can handle. Anything more and they would have given Gibbs a broom and made him literally sweep Jones under the rug.

That coincided with the public relations fiasco of Obama's speech to the schools. It's great to have a president care for kids. It's appalling to have him use them. The conservative reaction hit Obama so hard, he backed off of some of his lesson plan for the schools. Even that redo came from White House aides.

There is no subtlety in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue these days.

And all that takes us to this week - another Obama speech and another conservative protest. Both sides are lining up their best arguments to beat the other. Even The New York Times, one of the biggest Obama cheerleaders, said "Obama faces what friends and foes alike call a make-or-break moment in his young administration." By "friends," they mean the Times and "foes," pretty much anybody who's not a hardcore Democrat.

That's right. Obama's core constituency is about all he can count on - and not even that. The so-called progressives want Obama to take a hard left that would alienate conservatives, moderates and independents.

With summer ending, you might think we'd be moving into fall. But it looks like the winter of Obama's discontent.

The White House claims "the recovery act is working."

Well, it is. For the bankers. For Goldman Sachs. For FOO (Friends of Obama). For ACORN.

Add the severing of the Census Bureau with Acorn to the list. I wonder if Obama will try to strong-arm Acorn back into the Census when the story cools off.

Well, he got Cass.

Maybe that was all that he ever wanted...

I mean after all it’s not every day you can get a guy who thinks animals should sue with their own human lawyer, as a top advisor. Right?

I mean, he had to move on this -— and he did.

But he created 3 million new jobs, otherwise we would have 6 million unemployed! /s

They'll hire the same people, but they won't work for ACORN officially. But they will have been trained by ACORN to do the dirty work.

ACORN is “affiliated” with hundreds of more groups. I want to see the list of the other 79 groups recruited to help with the census.

Also— just because ACORN is not involved in the census, does not mean that the “census” is allowed to have all those other questions answered on the forms.

I am looking forward to a “KICK THE COMMIES OUT OF DC” Rally....

I didn’t need this article to tell me how rotten everything Obama is, but it’s interesting to note how effective the conservatives and Republicans can be as a minority party. Now if only we could trust them to keep their promises if and when they regain control.

Jimmy Carter is no longer the worse President in history. Thanks to Obama Jimmy Carter has been elevated to the worse white President in history.

I think we can count on Glenn Beck to lead the charge.

Also the bravery of the two young reporters who brought something to the table that can’t be ignored.

Watching them with Hannity last night I have the feeling they may just have some added videos to share to keep the heat on.

I won’t settle for anything less than a full fledged investigation into this group, along with those they are tied to in their corruption, including SEIU and elected officials at any and ALL levels. And an INSTANT stop to any and tax payer money going to them and ANYONE AFFILIATED WITH THEM— INLCUDING the paychecks of any elected officials!

Hold your noses and VOTE EVERY DEMOCRAT OUT OF THE HOUSE AND SENATE........EVEN if a RINO is running......THEN we can get rid of the RINO NEXT TIME if need be.

If he keeps "creating" jobs at that rate, we'll all be in the unemployment line.

Jimmy Carter is no longer the worse President in history. Thanks to Obama Jimmy Carter has been elevated to the worse white President in history.

Jimmy is still a trifecta, at least for now. The worst President in history, the worst white President in history and the worst natural born American citizen President in history.

Jimmy could lose a couple of those titles, but at this point obama has yet to prove he lives up to or was born to the Constitutional standard.

Jimmy maybe the worst, but he's our worst and not some unvetted usurping demonrat trojan horse manchurian masquerading as President.

Jimmy Carter never increased the national debt to a sum greater than that of all his presidential predecessors combined in a mere 6 months with no end in sight

Jimmy Carter never took trips all over the world as POTUS to criticize his own country

Jimmy Carter never fired CEOs of the automobile industry, nationalized the industry, told the investors who were legally the 1st creditors scheduled to receive a pay out to get lost, and Jimmy Carter never redistributed wealth by giving a lion share of an industry he nationalized to a union for nada.

Jimmy Carter never fired CEOs of major financial institutions while at the same time essentially nationalizing the banking industry

Jimmy Carter never tried to nationalize the health care industry of the United States by destroying the insurance industry. tell the nation that it's senior citizens would have to take pain pills instead of receiving treatment for an illness, use the IRS to enforce his health care program by including in the proposed legislation that the IRS could access any citizens bank account to transfer funds to the government for health care provided, proposed fining any citizen who did not have government approved health care insurance (single payer) thousands of dollars.

Jimmy Carter never appointed 30 plus Czars without Congressional approval, including a self proclaimed communist, to run enormous federal programs without any oversight.

I could go on and on but Jimmy Carter was a nasty boil, Barrack Obama is a terminal cancer.

I absolutely agree with all you've written and probably would agree to anything else you have to say about obama.

Just so you know, I'm one of the crazy people who aren't satisfied that obama meets the Constitutional requirements to be President.

If he ever proves he is legally eligible to have been elected, then I'll say he's the worst President. Right now, I don't know what to call him. For lack of a better term, he's the worst fraud ever perpetrated on our Republic.

Don’t count on MSM helping to lead this charge. Pathetic coverage of 9/12 events.

Again, in my opinion ,Glenn Beck is our best best bet.

He’s a bulldog who won’t let go
