Anti-Abortion [NYT can't bring itself to say pro-life] Protester Shot to Death
NYT ^ | September 11, 2009 | EMMA GRAVES FITZSIMMONS

A man who had long been vocal in his opposition to abortion was shot to death Friday morning while staging an anti-abortion protest outside a Michigan high school, authorities said.

The man, James Pouillon, 63, was shot at 7:20 a.m. as he stood outside Owosso High School in Owosso, a city of fewer than 15,000 people 90 miles northwest of Detroit, the authorities said. By Friday afternoon, the police said they had in custody a suspect in the shooting, and in a second fatal shooting nearby, not far from the school.

Officials are investigating whether Mr. Pouillon, who had been involved in anti-abortion efforts for decades, was singled out because of those views. Local newspapers reported that he had been carrying photographs of fetuses outside the school shortly before the shooting.

Prosecutors said the suspect, who is 33, targeted Mr. Pouillon because he disapproved of the victim’s protests in front of children at the school.

At a news conference, the Owosso police said several shots were fired at Mr. Pouillon from a passing car. After a witness provided the car’s license plate number, the police arrested the suspect at his home. The authorities did not immediately identified him.

I wonder if this will get the same coverage as Tiller the Killer got.

The shooter is a murderer, just like the guy who killed Dr. Tiller, anyone who has ever performed an abortion and anyone who has ever had an abortion.

Anti-Abortion [NYT can't bring itself to say pro-life] Protester Shot to Death

I guess I don't have any problem with them identifying him as "anti-abortion", because abortion is what the issue is really about. The Democrats aren't really "Pro-Choice" anyway, that's just how they try to clean up their image.

For them, it's all about abortion too, and they are pro-abortion. I think the conservative side would embrace the "anti-abortion" label, if for no other reason than to be able to call the other side what they really are.

I’m surprised they said “anti-abortion” instead of “anti-choice” or “anti-reproductive freedom.”

Well, at least they were honest about the reason. There was speculation that it was a domestic or personal dispute, but clearly, it was based on his opposition to abortion. I'm surprised the Times didn't try to cover it up.

Where is the in depth back story?

Oh, does not fit the Marxist Media template of support for self-inflicted generational genocide. Please remember, Government and “Friends of Government” supported abortion is the outcome by which those who verge a mental disorder as self-loathing fatalists attain profit.

Was there a clinic nearby targeting the H.S. as a customer base?? Was PP teaching a “health” class at the school?

“Anti-Abortion [NYT can’t bring itself to say pro-life] Protester Shot to Death”

“Anti-Abortion” and “Pro-Life” are not the same thing.

I think there are a number of people who “need killin’” so I hesitate to call myself Pro-Life.

And I wrote “need killin’”, not “need murderin’”. Those two aren’t the same either.

Anti-Abortion [NYT can't bring itself to say pro-life] Protester Shot to Death

The Times may have accidently gotten one right.

I'm anti-abortion with no exceptions. I'm also very much pro-capitol punishment....which means I'm not "Pro Life" in the truest sense of the word.

At some point someone has to ask, “Who the heck reads or trusts the New York Times?”

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice . . .

This man cared about the babies and tried to influence the high schoolers who frequently end up in abortion clinics. I watch them go in and out of our local killing station, even wearing their high school athletic shirts. Jim could have been doing lots of other things with his life, but his goal was to save babies and to help women avoid decisions that would forever plague their lives. He had to carry an oxygen tank with him to help his lungs breathe. He was a threat to no one except for those who cannot handle the truth. May the Lord reward him for the work he did to change this nation back to a culture of life.

Is the DHS going to classify pro-abortion activists as dangerous extremists now? When’s the President going to make a statement?

Labels like “pro-life” and “pro-choice” are self-aggrandizing nonsense. The issue in discussion is ABORTION. I am strictly anti-abortion, but because there are other situations where I find it acceptable to kill a human being—e.g. self defense, or defense of one’s people—to call myself pro-life would be a lie. Likewise, a blind person can see the hypocrisy of liberals touting “choice” while supporting laws that crap on human autonomy.
