President George W. Bush plans a quiet day in his Dallas office Friday in his first Sept. 11 since leaving the White House.

"Eight years ago, our nation and our freedom came under attack. On this solemn anniversary, Laura and I hold the victims and their families in our thoughts and prayers. We honor those who volunteer to keep us safe and extend the reach of freedom including members of the armed forces, law enforcement officers, and intelligence and homeland security professionals.
Their courage, service and sacrifice is a fitting tribute to all those who gave their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. On this day, let us renew our determination to prevent evil from returning to our shores."
Sherzer says the former president would make no public appearances nor give any interviews Friday.

~~PING!
Never, never, never. NEVER AGAIN!
Thank you for sharing this APPROPRIATE 911 message from a genuine LEADER who actually recognizes both that we’re still at war and that those fighting this war deserve our unqualified gratitude and respect!
Thank you President George W Bush!
Does anyone know what Bush does in Dallas?
I’ve tried to imagine if the current president had been in the White House on 9/11/01. It’s an alarming thought.
I thank God it was GWB instead. In spite of all my disagreements with him- it never dawned on me that perhaps he didn’t love America, as it does every day with Obama.
Bless his heart.
Thank you, GW, for your class and grace.
We were blessed with such a great leader.
Thank you Starwise for posting this. Excellent links.
And my thoughts and prayers to President Bush, Vice President Cheney and all administration officials and members for what was undoubtedly the worst moment of their lives. They led honorably. And another thank you to those at airport control centers and the FAA for safely landing thousands of planes within an hours’ time. Unheard of. Well done, all of you.

NEVER FORGET
Now I have a question. I did not see Zerobama giving his speech at the Pentagon this morning, but I heard him on my Sirius radio on Fox News, in my car when I was driving. Did he use the teleprompter, or did he read from notes?
I sure miss President Bush. Especially today. No matter what mistakes he made, he loves his country and he had our back.
This seems an appropriate place to just say “Thank you President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and your staff, for keeping us safe”.
Dittos that...
I was wondering why this has been the most difficult, emotional 9/11 anniversary for me yet. The answer should have been obvious. I miss this man terribly... especially on a day like today.
AMEN to all you said in words and pictures.
I agree with you. It’s been more difficult for me as well. I think it’s because we don’t have a President that I can trust or respect. As for as I’m concerned Obama is the polar opposite.
God Bless President Bush and his entire administration. (most of them)for a job well done.
