I would agree with that. Awful coincidental indeed. I know some areas have a lot of problems with nearly every storm. Does your area generally lose power in those cases, and how heavy is that rain you’re getting? Any lightning and such? Strong winds?

That’s the thing - we hardly EVER lose power. I heard sirens, but thought it was for an accident, etc. When the power comes back on, the initial reports were all over the place. The flights at National were stopped for a time - that’s verifiable. The reporters were getting conflicting stories, but now the reporters seem to be on the same page.

I find it hard to believe that the Coast Guard mishandled this “training exercise”. The Coast Guard has a good reputation for being professional and having their act together. Who in the world would decide to have a training exercise at that location, when the POTUS is crossing the bridge on 911? The “incident” happened when the POTUS was crossing the bridge. FOX saying that it was a lack of communication.

The story broke, according to statement from Coast Guard (on FOX) by people monitoring radio calls on the river.
