it sure does seem this might be an effective weed removal system for the abundant travelers in DC. Any thoughts? If you all like the idea and know who it could be forwarded to as a suggested action plan, I'd appreciate it.
Slight problem. The people we elected to the government would have to decide to use it on themselves.
Which doesn’t seem particularly likely.
First you have to answer the question everybody under age 40 will ask: “What’s a ‘Communist’ ?”
you ain’t kidding...but then I know plenty over 40 who still think that Communists can only speak Russian and don’t own any piece of clothing other than a military uniform...
for instance, if I asked my mother what she thought about Obama naming a communist as a czar, she would roll her eyes and laugh at me...us right wing nutz......
but mother— HE calls himself a communist, not me— HE DOES...
she would say “okay, let’s not talk politics.” Then she would go the office and tell jokes about how crazy me and my friends are....
The Communists never attacked us militarily. They just infiltrated and took over from within. Just like Kruschev predicted. Now they are in the White House and Congress. We will slowly degress in to a disgusting Communist society. I am glad I got to live in Freedom when I was young.
You’re so correct with this. My brother and SIL. Brother voted for 0bama. (It is hard to believe the same blood runs through our veins) SIL-is liberal but claims moderacy, but thinks 0bama is inexperienced and LOVES everybody on the view (accept Elizabeth)
The brother said 0bama “dropped the ball, after the election” Then after his speech the other night he now calls him, a visionary.Upon talking to the SIL she brought up Van Jones and said WTF was THAT about? I told her he is an avowed communist. She was speechless to a point. I then asked her if she knew politically what liberal was and asked her if she had to pick which one is leading to communism, right or left? She said right. I then told her the truth and that 0bama was a communist and I was sad that my brother fell for his shiney object speech. We got off the phone quickly.
Have you surrendered already?
Well it’s never been repealed and has never been tested before the Supreme Court.
I agree. You are 100% correct.
Then again, has anything REALLY been tested in the SCOTUS?
No but it would take a lot longer than my remaining life span to make the “change” back to Freedom.
Perhaps defining Communist, replete with pictures of the horrors wrought, is worthy of its own thread so that we may educate those who don’t truly know how evil it is...
Your story makes me glad I do not have any brothers or sisters.
Other relatives I can avoid.
I think it would be great if conservatives could help finance a historical movie that for once didn’t glorify communism, but rather showed the extent of the damage to human freedom that communism has wrought the world over. If it was portrayed in a cool way that maybe jumped from the Red purges in the 40s and 50s to a dystopic future USA maybe the young texters could find a clue. But then again, maybe not...just thinking aloud.
The left's success in taking over the country lies in the fact that they managed to infiltrate and eventually take over positions of influence in the country that were important but non-elective.
Education was first.
Then came the media.
Then the entertainment industry.
Ascending through the ranks, quietly but relentlessly, they achieved leadership positions in these areas where they could appoint like-minded flunkies to pull along the masses in their organizations.
Having done that, they could then begin to "educate" the people about what was "right" and "correct" as deemed by society's trendsetters.
This enabled them to promote widely, and believably, leftist candidates for public office.
Today we find ourselves being led by a political thugocracy in all 3 branches of government that is rotten to the core.
This manifest rot, which is endemic to all communist governments, is on of the reasons I am optimistic about the future. (Maybe not in my lifetime - I'm getting to be an old fart now - but more likely within the next generation or two.)
Parasitical governments contain within themselves the seeds of their own destruction. Always.
That being said, it does not follow that we just roll over and die. Far from it. Not only to ourselves but our posterity do we owe it to resist, actively and passively, every affront that such "leadership" attempts to foist off on us.
Once the full panoply of socialism/communism is presented to the masses which it purports to aid and represent, that which currently passes for "education" becomes nullified by the impact to society and it's individual members of what can only be called "stern reality".
The School of Hard Knocks is expensive, requiring outrageous tuition at times, but as education goes, it is very, very good, and it's lessons are seldom, if ever, forgotten.
I'll tell you the truth. Because there are so many guns today, so much anger, so much fear, so much loathing, among those who comprise "Middle America" (or "Real America") over so may issues that seemingly coalesce around Obama as the most visible agents of "change", I think it's inevitable that we'll see a war in this country sooner rather than later.
Should this be the case (which is something I do not espouse, but which I merely foresee as likely), serious thought by "Real Americans" should commence as soon as possible on just what kind of infrastructure should emerge after that war. It should assume we win, because if we lose, the matter is moot anyway.
This is a lot longer than I had originally planned as a reply to your anecdote, and I apologize for that, so I'll stop now. If you've read this far, I thank you for your patience, and the indulgence you've granted me.
OK, I'm off the soapbox....for now!
CA....

Paging Clint Eastwood...

Class action suit? Citizen Grand Jury?
“Perhaps defining Communist, replete with pictures of the horrors wrought, is worthy of its own thread so that we may educate those who dont truly know how evil it is...”
It really is an educational issue. Kids hear [obliquely] about the horrors of Viet Nam, and frankly, I don’t think we should have gone in... but, Cambodia’s Pol Pot, Lenin’s starvation/murder/transport to hostile places, treatment of the Kulaks, etc, etc. is something kids never learn about.
Besides the fact that central planning is horribly inefficient, [More left shoes than right or all in one size? Becoming a ‘black finger’ -using Pravda to wipe?] idealists somehow forget or don’t understand Communism is an extortion racket on a massive scale. After all, for the proles to work to their ability someone has to decide their capability... talk about a patronage system! ‘Thank you sir, may I have another?’

Shades of Niemöller.
“First they came for the Communists, and I didnt speak up, because I wasnt a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didnt speak up, because I wasnt a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didnt speak up, because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me.”
If readers have a chance to see the play, ‘And Then They Came for Me’ do so. Bring a hankie or three.
