One of the "Most Commented" stories on the Houston Chronicle was the story about Joe Wilson shouting "You lie!" during Obama's speech. The story appears as a "Most Commented" story in the right hand column on the website. Upon clicking on that link, the story is "Access forbidden" and is not found. Interesting.

In modern web applications, this is usually an error in the security system. They don’t use real directories any more, it’s all controlled by plugins.

Nancy announced yesterday, that there is a House rule against calling the President a liar.
She also announced that they wouldn't be using this rule against Rep Wilson.
Damned right they wont. They know the President was lying and they don't need any more publicity by trying to pillory Joe Wilson for telling the truth.

possibly too many ‘dooshbag’ comments after the article and too much trouble for moderators at paper to keep up with, foul mouthed libs.

Whoop de do, a hose rule you say, eh Nancy? How about the Bush booing, that was OK? What are you going to do, send him a nasty note, make him stand in the corner. The house can pass rules still we have a first amendment that supersedes any nonsense you might conjure up.
If you desire, bring it on...I'd love to see this debate on live TV: “Mr. Wilson, you have heard the charge, how do you plead? I plead guilty to the fact I called der Leader a liar but I felt that truth is its own defense.”

It only applies to Reps. Dems are allowed to call Republican Presidents a liar anytime and as many times as the choose.

The story is no longer in the "Most Commented" list either.

They didn’t care to hear the support for Joe Wilson’s words...
To: Venturer
But the president can call Republicans liars. Anyone can do anything to Republicans or Conservatives, but no one can do anything bad to Liberals and Democrats. Or Communists.

Thanks for the research, Elizabethgrace!

Is there a House rule that the President ought not call people liars when speaking at joint sessions? Is there a rule against the President lying during his speech in the House? Is there a House rule against the Speaker lying about American citizens accusing them of carrying swaztikas?
Just wondering.

To: Jabba the Nutt
I agree, Jabba. I think Pelosi and 0bama were careful not to specifically name a person- “some people” carry swastickas, and 0bama did not name names, something like “those who say thusandso are liars”.
Plus they are Dems and have different rules than us humans do.
