Illegal Immigrants and HR 3200: Estimate of Costs to Taxpayers
Center for Immigration Studies ^ | Sept., '09

Posted on 09/10/2009 4:43:49 PM PDT by T.L.Sink

Based on our analysis of Census Bureau data, we estimate that there are 6.6 million uninsured ILLEGAL ALIENS who could be COVERED BY THE NEW HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL. Even though HR 3200 states that illegal immigrants are not eligible for the proposed taxpayer-funded affordable premium credits, there is NOTHING in the bill to enforce this. An amendment was defeated by Democrats that would have required the use of the effective Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program, used by ALL OTHER means-tested programs of this kind. ["YOU LIE!," shouted Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) when Obama said illegal aliens would not be eligible to siphon off billions from the health care scheme. Wilson's outburst may have been rude, but HE WAS RIGHT!]

The article by CIS is thorough, detailed and well-researched. And it clearly shows how illegal aliens, with tacit Democratic compliance, will latch onto the dole of the ObamaCare socialistic medicical scheme - and cost taxpayers more billions in taxes for the deficit and more trillions for the national debt.

Stupid Democrats ~ they totally dissed Republicans by refusing to include methods for positive identification ~ no doubt they thought that was minor league stuff, and no one would care, and then it turned out it was one of the points the Republicans would use to defeat the bill in the court of public opinion.

The Democrats also bought into the idea that you could put a bunch of stuff in a health are bill about "end of life counseling" and that wouldn't work as a red flag to stir up the public against the bill and the Democrats and Obama.

How utterly stupid of them.

The Democrats removed all the "punish the doctors" stuff that defeated the same nonsense under Bill Clinton ~ so they got something right, but now they've replaced it with ways to "punish the patients" in the Senate/Baucus version.

They seem to be incapable of learning ~ just thugs on parade.

Heck, they are way off on their estimate. More like 18 million illegals.

Heck, they are way off on their estimate. More like 18 million illegals.

CIS does some good work, but they have consistently underestimated the illegal alien (not "immigrant", alien)count. Most recently they were using the number 11.8 million. That number, rounded off as 12 million, has been in use since 2003. You have to have been deaf, dumb, and blind to not have noticed the increase in illegal alien footprint in the last six years since 2003.

Then pretty much contained in border states, illegals are now found everywhere - Maine, Minnesota, Idaho, Iowa,Colorado, etc., etc. And yet the number is still 12 million. Huh?!

In truth, the number is unknowable, because governments don't want it known less Americans realize the true status of the invasion. Feds and the states go to great lengths to avoid enumerating the illegals, in some cases making it against the law to identify illegals. 20 to 40 million are equally valid numbers for illegals, and are probably closer to the mark. Just look at the percentages of births that are Hispanic, even after you factor in different birth rates and ages of the various demographics.

We will only know the true numbers of illegals when it is too late. If illegals are granted amnesty, you will find not 6 million, not 12 million, but scores of millions lined up to get their citizenship. The amnesty in the Reagan era anticipated less than a million - it turned out to be over 3 million. Using the same multiplier, 6-12 million now will be 18-36 million applying for their citizenship, and welfare, Obamacare, and all the other goodies of the liberal welfare state.

I use my “rule of thumb” x 3, to whatever they will admit to.

They admit 6.6, then it’s more like 20 million.

And then family added in. A natural increase in democrat base every year.
