There is the dread of leaving the house that morning. People might stare, or worse, yell insults.
Prayers are more intense, visits with family longer. Mosques become a refuge.
Eight years after 9/11, many U.S. Muslims still struggle through the anniversary of the attacks. Yes, the sting has lessened. For the younger generation of Muslims, the tragedy can even seem like a distant memory. "Time marches on," said Souha Azmeh Al-Samkari, a 22-year-old student at the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Yet, many American Muslims say Sept. 11 will never be routine, no matter how many anniversaries have passed.

I am sure the sting hasnt lessened for the families and friends of the 3000 people murdered on September 11, 2001.It seems no one speaks for all those injured, maimed, burned, or scarred that day...

Yeah, I can understand that because on every other anniversary we ran wild killing and raping muslims all across the country./SAR
This is the same clap trap they bring out every year trying to make the muslims the victims instead of the dead Americans in the Trade center, Pentagon and an empty field.

"A significant number of U.S. Muslims contend that no one of their faith could have perpetrated the hijackings"Oddly enough, the Japanese also refuse to believe they could have launched the attack on Pearl Harbor...
How convenient.

Yes, indeed.

The morning the World Trade Center crumbled, she rushed to her son's Islamic day school so they could both return home. The other women there warned that she should take off her headscarf, or hijab, for her own safety. This is either out n' out bullshit, or they knew something that most people didn't, since, if I recall correctly, the general public didn't know exactly who attacked us in the immediate hours following the strike on the twin towers.
If it's the former, then it's simply pathetic; and if it's the latter, then it shows they know in their heart how evil their religion is...

You called it.

Many of the Muslims who came to the United States came because they wanted to get away from the nuttiness of the ME. They won't be talking to reporters about that - for the same reason the MSM was afraid to publish the cartoon of Mohammod. Fear.

In the past some good citizens have been played like a fiddle by various adherents to Islam. Remember the spate of suspicious behaviors on aircraft? The shuffling of seats, the uttering prayers, the mean glances. Then the screams of outrage when security acted. The lawsuit by a group of these people against the airlines. It seems to have died out now. The wicked acts of frightening ordinary people, who just wanted to travel somewhere.
Once more they are trying to play games. This is the guilt factor. People have paid and paid again over this guilt business. Yet it still works. Now they know that others have already tried this tactic. Hopefully they will not invent some stupid act tommorrow and attribute it to some wacko out there. This in vogue by others as well on the odd university campus
We are not fooled here.
