Rich Lieberman sends word that KNEW (910 AM) has dropped Michael Savage as of this morning.
The station's program director, John Scott, was quoted on Lieberman's Web site as saying that they were "headed in a new direction and a new mind set at this station. Savage does not fit in any longer."
Coming from a guy who still puts Glenn Beck on the air, this is, to say the least, confusing. Word on the street points to internal friction with station management; losing Savage's significant salary might also have been a factor.
Savage is nationally syndicated. He won’t have any problems. I still like listening to him.
Savage has his moments, but you have to listen to a lot of junk and filler to get to those moments.
I mean, how many times do we need to know what he had to eat last night at Alioto’s?

Yeahhhh, he wastes so much time on things like that. Maybe he should talk more about cigars and golf.
I like to listen to him, but he cannot focus. He rambles from Meatballs to Medical Plants to Red Diaper Doper Babies. I dont have the stamina to keep up anymore.
I’ll put the amount of Time Rush talks about something relevant against Savage’s time any day. Savage has become about Savage. Occasionally he is insightful, but he has lost much of his appeal since it has become the “I’m so mistreated by the world” show.
The wiener is a nut case. They took his goofy arse off stations in Ky as well. You wiener fanatics are as crazy as the big Wiener himself.
Thanks. I fogot that. I guess that means the article was inaccurate and KNEW didn’t want to pay Savage’s syndication fee.

He doesn't care about being the best, or even his own personal best anymore and many talk radio listeners have figured that out and they are moving on to other hosts who actually want to be behind the mic.
My my,,Now let me get this straight; YOU are criticizing Savage because he has crazy rants? While simultaneously calling him a nut, using “arse” as though you were Chaucer, and call me “fanatic” and “crazy”?
And all i did was dare to notice that talking about his dinner and his dog, isn’t all THAT different from listening to stories of cigars, diets, West palm beach, how his kitten wakes him up, Bizjets,,,etc,,

Actually Savage has been losing out to Levin (who is on at the same time on KSFO) for sometime. They need someone who actually cares about being on the radio to want to go toe to toe with Levin and fight for listeners.
Not really. Savage really, really sucks. Beck just sucks.
All with due deference to Beck's great contributions recently, I just don't dig his style.
I used to like Savage and then he just started getting downright mean, calling his conservative hosts names and degrading them. He even said something derogatory about Glenn the other night after Van Jones quit. I had to turn the station. He’s so pompous. Where Glenn speaks out on fact, on reseach, Savage speaks on emotion, tooting his own horn over and over. There’s only so much of “I’m right, you’re wrong’ attitude anyone can take.

I enjoy Rush greatly, but it’s a little hypocritical to criticize Savage for talking about his experience on last nights walk, sailing, or his dog, and then give Rush a pass. Pull your lips away from Rush’s “arse”. Dittos!

You could always check out Hugh Hewitt on 1070 5-8. If you can stand that he is a Romney fan, he isn’t too bad and has some interesting guests.

he definitely added some sizzle to the pot..
he can always write some more books about his latest ordeals or take some more treks in search of nature’s secrets in the wild.
