If people think the health-care debate has been contentious, just wait until the Senate takes up cap-and-trade. That wait may be longer than first thought, as Democrats in the Senate have less unanimity on the climate-change legislation than on ObamaCare. After a bruising summer of Democratic discontent, Dick Durbin (D-IL), Harry Reids chief lieutenant, feels no rush to start an argument that will further fracture the party:

Excellent news. This gets us past the governor elections. If the right takes these elections, the left will lick their wounds and start on their defensive re-election mode. Translation: the big spending/taxing bills would be political suicide.
And right on its heels, Amnesty for Illegal Alien Peasants.

Yup....not this year or any year. He won’t even be in office by the time it comes up again. His approval rate is at 36% and those were most likely bought.

if the wusspublicans don’t, once again, snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, there’s a chance they can kick both Obamacare and cap and tax down the road past the holidays. once into January or February the demholes and RINOs in the house will be looking ahead to the elections and will be concerned with saving their own skin.

You have to believe this will have a profound effect on the healthcare bill. Why should a member of congress put their name behind something that the voters hate.
Cap and trade legislation is like strapping container loads of dynamite to our economy and setting it off.
