A completely different issue. This is about financial poverty, not moral.
What’s missing from this report is the mentally ill homeless poor who in the 1980’s the left decided should not be institutionalized but should be free to roam our streets.
how do you think he'd be able to afford that if he had to pay for his own food, shelter, clothing, and transportation?
I swear, some people just don't think, or even have hearts.

fixing the “poor” issue is EASY— VERY EASY....
stop public school social engineering, and simply teach them the facts in the study below....teach it to them in every grade, every year...just 2 hours a year...

no religion, no moral judgments, just simple facts....
They've done the same with diabetes testing. Way back when, a 110 fasting blood glucose was considered borderline or pre-diabetic. Since I was a little over that, I cleaned up my diet, got more exercise and lost quite a bit of weight. My doctor was still telling me that I was pre-diabetic. As my level was dropping, the cutoff was dropping even faster. The cutoff had been dropped to 105 and, last I heard, had been further reduced to 100. When I finally got mine down to 99, I was finally "normal".
There will always be a bottom 10%.
So these peoople from England were much less wealthy than your middle class friends but they could afford to come to America and stay for several weeks? I don’t follow you, who footed the bill for all that? I don’t know many people who could afford to fly to England for a wedding, let alone stay for weeks.
Here she is more likely to do the same thing to buy cocaine.
Staying here for a couple weeks cost them nothing, because they stayed with the families here, as guests.
In England, few can afford large homes on 5-10 acres, or a truck and an SUV or two.
England...50 million people and 50,000 sq miles.
Do the math.
