I have been sitting quietly on the sidelines watching all of this national debate on healthcare. It is time for me to bring some clarity to the table by explaining many of the problems from the perspective of a doctor.
First off, the government has involved very few of us physicians in the healthcare debate. While the American Medical Association has come out in favor of the plan, it is vital to remember that the AMA only represents 17% of the American physician workforce.

Guess that part of the questionnaire applies to you too now, huh Doc? The Gov "asked us too", but didn't care.
(I thank you all for your education and perseverance)

So many have said it but I will repeat. None of this is about healthcare. It is about gummint. Medicare is broke. In August Medicare was 6 billion in the red. Broke. Gummint revenue intake is diminishing. Gummint debt is rising. Zero is at the wheel of the Titanic whether he realizes it or not. A slightly interesting question is whether he is steering for the iceberg on purpose or not. The answer doesn't matter. IMHO soon we will hear ice on metal and rivets popping. Murphy's Law has a corrollary. Things that can't happen won't. The gummint can't pay for any of this. The gummint can try do do this or that. It can try to leap over the moon. There ain't any money for it. Period. Full stop. (Epic Fail).
