A man brutually tortured as a prisoner of war should not be mocked in such a fashion. Whether you support his policies or not... do not mock his stint in the Hanoi Hilton. He did this country proud.

I think your first instinct was correct. I don’t care whether you like John McCain, his service and the torture he endured in the Hanoi Hilton should not be mocked.

Meh... reasonable people can disagree. Personally, I think directly attacking Obama and/or his motivations is counter-productive, given the very cult of personality around Obama that you reference. Others may believe differently.

You may have intended no disrespect... but your comment was very disrespectful of his service and sacrfice.

Posting on an internet site does not qualify you to demean a man who endured horrific torture at the hands of the enemy.

I'll borrow a locution from Arturo Toscanini: As a man of the military and a war hero, I take my hat off to John McCain. But as a man of the Senate, I'll put it back on ten times.

“What is tragic is that to the best of my knowledge, the guy has never undergone a true psychological evaluation to determine if he is indeed mentally sound. He talks a good game, but his cozying up to liberals, leftists, Marxists and traitors all point to something very seriously wrong with his thinking. ‘

I have posted many times that McCain is a casualty of war, and I stand by it.

That's fine. I don't have a problem with that.

But, a fundamental disagreement over politics does not lessen what John McCain endured in the Hanoi Hilton.

. . . a fundamental disagreement over politics does not lessen what John McCain endured in the Hanoi Hilton.

Nor does what he endured in the Hanoi Hilton immunise him from criticism over what we endure in portion enough thanks to his presence in Washington. Bravery in war does not equal wisdom in politics.

The event is already gonna be huge..
could you imagine how many more will descend on DC if there's a commitment for her to show?
Woo-hoo! I'd camp out on 9/11 just so I could be close to the stage when she speaks.

Again, no disagreement here. I get it that you don’t like John McCain. I’m not a big John McCain fan either. But with that said I stand by my post that April Lexington’s post was disrespectful to what John McCain endured in the Hanoi Hilton. That is something that should not be disrespected just because one does not like McCain’s politics.

“...McCain lost the election by being too civil towards a group of anarchists and Marxist...”
______________________________________________________________

FYI, anarchy is the absence of any form of govt, and at this point would be better than what we have.

‘Marxist’ is an accurate description though.
