I'm pleased that the White House is finally responding to Republican health care ideas instead of pretending they don't exist.[1] But in doing so President Obama should follow his own sound advice and avoid making "wild misrepresentations".[2] Medicare vouchers would give everyone on Medicare the chance to decide for themselves which health plan to use, rather than leave that decision to government bureaucrats. Such proposals are the kind of health care reform that Republicans stand for: market-oriented, patient-centered, and result-driven.
The White House talking points leave the rest of my arguments unanswered. They don't respond to the idea that all individuals should get the same tax benefits received by those who get coverage through their employers; that we must reform our tort laws; and that we should allow Americans to buy insurance across state lines. The White House also fails to respond to the Nyce/Schieber study indicating that wages will fall if the government expands coverage without reducing health care inflation rates.
One last thing: after President Obama's speech tonight, listen for which pundits use the words "false", "scary", and "risky" in describing the proposals I put forward. That's how you'll be able to tell who the White House counted as "allies" worthy of receiving its talking points.

Go Governor!
GO SARAH GO!
"President Obama argues that Democrats' "will provide every American with some basic consumer protections that will finally hold insurance companies accountable." Of course consumer protection sounds like a good idea. And it's true that insurance companies can be unaccountable and unresponsive institutionsmuch like the federal government. That similarity makes this shift in focus seem like nothing more than an attempt to deflect attention away from the details of the Democrats' proposalsproposals that will increase our deficit, decrease our paychecks, and increase the power of unaccountable government technocrats.
"Instead, let's talk about real health-care reform: market-oriented, patient-centered, and result-driven. As the Cato Institute's Michael Cannon and others have argued, such policies include giving all individuals the same tax benefits received by those who get coverage through their employers; providing Medicare recipients with vouchers that allow them to purchase their own coverage; reforming tort laws to potentially save billions each year in wasteful spending; and changing costly state regulations to allow people to buy insurance across state lines. Rather than another top-down government plan, let's give Americans control over their own health care.
"We often hear such overblown promises from Washington. With the facts in hand, tell them that this time we're not buying it." Sarah Palin - September 8, 2009
Sarah still has the left, the DNC, the MSM and the RINOs all in a frenzy wondering what her next move will be and how it will be perceived...they almost literally froth at the mouth in their efforts to discredit her.
WHile they do this, and further discredit only themselves in the effort, Sarah is going to write her book, give speeches and promote conservatie principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disaster and gain great political capital in the process.
Then she will support conservative candidates in 2010 and help them win, amassing much more political capital. She will then take all of that capital and make an awesome, stunning, and successful run for the Presidency in 2012.
"...like that grizzly guards her cubs, as a mother naturally guards her own. I will keep that vow wherever the road may lead." - Sarah Palin, July 26, 2009
A steadfast, growing, purposeful, committed opposition to the destruction Obama and those who support him are causing has formed. Against him and the assinine foolishness associated with trying to transform this nation into a marxist construct, something that has proven to be so abjectly disasterous and failing everytime it has been tried in history. The Health Care issue has turned over this ant hill, and now it is being reflected in all of the polls.
Obama, the DNC, the far left and the MSM all fear this rising opposition and are finding they are incapable of controlling it or its spread. That is why they are desperately trying to demonize and categorizing traditional Americans. But the slumbering giant has stirred, and he is waking up hopping mad.
A PETITION ON FACEBOOK FOR CONSTITUTIONAL RESTORATION
amazing- what is her budget for Facebook postings vs the cost obama pays to control and spin the media industry?
Palin mega-ping!
Wow. First, Sarah beats Zero like a rented mule. Then, she preps the audience for the coordinated bias the media will exhibit towards her WSJ editorial. Nice job...
BIG Palin Ping!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is brilliant. She just keeps them coming. She is like a WWE wrestler(Without the steroids) she keeps on beating Obama’s ass like a Government mule, its just so awesome to see. No wonder he keeps on wee weeing himself, pretty soon he will be going #2 in his pants instead of #1
Just damn! This is way too good.
She lands another one...A straight clean right, no hook.
Keep on duking Sarah, you’re getting to them.
I’ve never witnessed anything like this - one person, one facebook account versus the power of the presidency.
Weird.
Sarah is great. She’s got my vote! Hope she runs...
Triple Thump!
I think Sarah has a certain someone on her side, someone very powerful.
Obama better bring it tonight for the official Democrat response to Sarah Palin. He’ll need to be good. :)
I’ll walk over broken glass to vote for this woman. She speaks the TRUTH and the libs can’t stand it. It’s eating them alive. Sarah is the ONLY one that scares Obama and his Administration that they have to respond to a facebook post. I’ve never seen anything like this, EVER..someone behind a computer screen taking down a President..just shows what kind of weak ass prick the libs elected
I am beginning to think she and Liz Cheney are working together. They have such a similar, direct, no nonsense style about them.
My estimation is the book draft is being read by the publisher right about now. She has been mostly quiet up to yesterday since her brilliant “Death Panels” posting. So now she explains it with footnotes on facebook and then the WSJ op-ed and followed by two more today.
Excellent lesson in lean governance Lady Palin! Hey Todd, has anybody told you today just how lucky you are? Our prayers and smiles travel with you always.
What does she know? Only people from densely populated metropolitan centers and with northeast accents are qualified for high office.
