“I simply cannot believe we are rapidly marching into a fascist government.”
WE are NOT. THEY are. I am not anywhere near ready to be herded into cattlecars. Not even close!
Cornyn evidently won’t do the wrong thing for the right reason.
He has voted for funding for the fence each time it’s come up.
Yet another thing to remember before reflexively pulling the lever for someone with an (R) next to their name.
IMO, it’s better to have actual Democrats in office than “Republicans” who vote like this.
And we know Sphincter wasn’t one of the four this time! Also it must have een more than four because I am sure Byrd wasn’t there! We are lucky if Grahamnesty and McPain weren’t two of the Scumbags and Traitors! This guy is the Worst of the Worst! THE RNC better do some real Soul Searching................:-(
Me neither. I get a little dark at times but I don't stop doing what I can and I don't let the dark part do much more than spur my anger and activities (such as they are.)
That’s excellent! I love it!!!
Here are the 7:
Bennett (R-UT)
Collins (R-ME)
Gregg (R-NH)
Hatch (R-UT)
Lugar (R-IN)
Snowe (R-ME)
Voinovich (R-OH)
“Please dont bring religious wars into this. This is Caesers domain, not Gods IMHO.”
Then we won’t be hearing anymore harsh comments towards the Religeon of Peace when they come chopping heads, torturing women....
A person’s belief system shapes their world view, and helps determine the decisions they make. A man’s religeous views are more important than nationality, political party, education, etc.
I saw that after I responded to you... I’m stunned! These same two senators voted with the senators from WY to ban drilling on public lands in the SW a few months ago... I just hope people rise up and vote out Bennett... he has a powerful name in Utah so I don’t hold out a lot of hope.
Luv it. Now what is the government doing right now in San Diego? Raiding medical MJ dispensaries.

Cornyn: Border Fence Won’t Happen
It’s one thing to “authorize” a border fence, it’s another thing to appropriate money and build it, says Texas’ US Senator John Cornyn. Congress has only done the former, he now declares, but not the latter: No fence will be built as a result of the recent high-profile legislation. It was merely an “important symbolic gesture.”
What a surprise: All hat ... no cattle. That’s okay. It was a dumb idea, anyway, and nobody on the border wanted it.
UPDATE: More from the Washington Post. They meant a “virtual fence.”
ROTFLMAO!
Would you mind explaining to those of us who are new to politics (not new to issues like FR, but new to politcal terminology) what the difference is between cloture and confirm, and also what are they talking about on this thread that Cornyn fought for straight up or down vote? I need to understand this. Cornyn is my senator and I’m calling his office tomorrow. We’ve supported him big time in the past and he is normally pretty conservative. I just need to understand this better for making my call.
He just sent us another fundraising letter.....
Thanks,
Well...
I was more just sayin' that FReepers probably shouldn't get too worked up at each other over such things... at least according to the Forum Rules. :0)
Vosting for, Sen. Robert Bennett (R-Utah), Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.), Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine). Democrats voting against: Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), Sen. James Webb (D-Va.).

Who and I know what Cass Sunstean is. My question is why and what is he “running for” that this has to get Congressional approvement. I’m confused.
Put on the CD and listen to Cass Elliot, she makes more sense than most. And, she’s dead. No OBAMACARE for her.
“They voted not to filibuster not to confirm him.”
Stick a comma in the sentence and a “but,” PhiKapMom. As in:
“They voted not to filibuster, but not to confirm him...”
Do you have a spare “also” in your wallet, as in ‘but “ALSO” not to...?
Here it is: “”They voted not to filibuster, but ALSO not to confirm him...”
It’s much more clear.
If you’re thin on “buts,” I can lend you a half-dozen.
See White’s “Elements of Style”
(Just havin’ a bit of fun with you. No offence meant, PhiKapMom.)

That would be our ex-senator Gregg. We moved to Maine from NH. Then again, maybe we're the stupid ones.
Here are the 7:
Bennett (R-UT)
Collins (R-ME)
Gregg (R-NH)
Hatch (R-UT)
Lugar (R-IN)
Snowe (R-ME)
Voinovich (R-OH)
I know we have some freepers from Maine but can anyone explain why they even bother to have a Republican party in that state?
