Washington, DC --(AmmoLand.com)- Data released by the FBIs National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) reported 1,074,757 checks in August 2009, a 12.3 percent increase from the 956,872 reported in August 2008.
So far that is roughly 9,076,205 gun bought this year! The total is probably more as NICS background checks may cover the purchase of more than one gun at a time.

I wonder about pens used for dissent and writing against the government, wouldnt it be best for them to be registered and formally purchased?

Love my CZ’s too. The CZ75B is probably the nicest 9mm gun I have ever shot. For .45, I love the 1911 (specifically, Kimber), but for 9mm, everyone should try out the CZ75B IMO.
And I don’t understand the infatuation with plastic guns either!

I have heard only bad things aboutKahr’s, from family members who owned them and got rid them, to sellers at gun shows who have stopped carrying them. Quality is hit or miss.

Where is the coresponding increase in blood in the streets?
I only wish the Brady's and the other anti-2A's would be asked this question.

Where is the coresponding increase in blood in the streets? Its not there because these are all purchased by law abiding citizens.
That's the dirty little 'secret' the MSM and the anti-gun nuts in Congress don't want spread around. It gets in the way of their agenda too much.
In most violent crimes, the gun was obtained illegally. Most legal gun owners are level-headed citizens who know the responsibilites of gun ownership and are the ones taking the heat for what the criminals are doing.

So how many Freepers are members of a Second Amendment group so they can keep those purchases?
I asked on numerous occasions for the members to put the initials in their tagline or on their profile page. You can see for yourself how many Freepers are willingly to stand up for their Rights.

I decided to go the compact-9mm route after looking at all the .380s. Some of them really
look sweet, but my experience with blowback-operated .380s has not been fun.
I finally settled on the Walther PPS.
Kind of ugly, compared to some of the .380s, including its great-grandfather, the PPK. Internally, it's a baby Glock, which is one thing I like about it. It works like a Glock. It's slab-sided, but that aids in preventing print-through. I've shot it with the smallest magazine, and while my pinkie finger had nothing to do, there were no real issues. And I can depend on the locked breech to smooth out the forces generated on firing. And compared to .380, 9mm is as cheap and common as dirt.
I bought this after January 20, 2009, too.

is it best to make sure that your CCL guns are registered since you carry them around constantly and you also want to be sure and get them back if used?
If you have to use it then they are sure to get your name and number when taking your gun away. What is the point of telling them in advance?

However, the Bersa fit my hand like a glove, shot smooth as silk and damned well hit anything I pointed it at, for $50 less than the Keltec.
My Bersa is nice but it does not fit in pockets the way my LCP does. Apples and oranges.

Post 59 explains a little why I am interested in a pistol that with a loaded 6 round magazine weighs 10 ounces.
Cobra you seem to have a bit of an attitude when talking to people about firearms. You aren’t helpful for sure.

A bit larger than Id like, but am willing to carry a few extra ounces to know that my H&K Compact9 will function 100% when called upon. Also will handle +P+ ammo for that extra bang. The thing is that I can always carry my regular pistol but there are times that I want to only carry 10 ounces are so. Many years ago I had a little shirt pocket pistol and there were times when it was like a magic charm, invisible but there, it was a 25 and I didn't have much confidence in the caliber or that pistol but at times it was just wonderful to have something that no one knew I had, I have seen at least two shootings with a 25 and I think a third but I'm having trouble remembering where. In none of those shootings was the guy dead when I went back to my drinks but they definitely were finished for the day and they were definitely down.
There are many times that someone doesn't want to carry a pistol but in even the 113 degree temperatures on a day that you don't even want to carry your cell phone, you can always make room for a 10 ounce pocket package.

And I dont understand the infatuation with plastic guns either! Weight. Materials change, I prefer polymer sheaths and handles for my knives, fleece to wool, rip stop nylon to canvas and I don't care for leather belts compared to a good multi purpose nylon belt.
I like all of these modern materials and I was stoked in the early 1980s when they came out with a full sized Glock 17 combat pistol that with a holster and 17 rounds weighed a fraction under two pounds, to me that is a huge break through towards a better future.

You know? We really do buy a lot of guns judging from these numbers. Im looking to buy a Kel-tec micro 380 P-3AT anyone know the cheapest and best way to pursue that, how about the internet?
I got mine from a pawn shop that also sells some new guns. By far the cheapest I found. The pawn shop owner had a table set up at a local gun show.

Bersa makes their firearms in many different calibers and sizes. I was refering specifically to the 380 CC sub-compact.
