MINNEAPOLIS - Just before the start of class Tuesday morning, a man abducted his ex-girlfriend as she was dropped off outside Patrick Henry High School in north Minneapolis
"She got a ride to school and when she got out of her car, her old boyfriend pulled up, grabbed her, pulled her into his car and took off," Minneapolis police Sgt. Jesse Garcia said.
Police said the ex-boyfriend drove south for several miles before the girl got out of the car while they were stuck in traffic on Cedar Lake Parkway, near France Ave.
That's when a group of Good Samaritans flagged down cable guy Jason Hoff. Despite the onlookers, Hoff said the man was insistent on getting the girl back in his car. Hoff said the man punched the girl repeatedly as they struggled on the side of the road.
"That's when I just kind of stepped in, pulled him off of her and from there he said, 'It's my wife'," Hoff said. "And I said I don't care if it's your wife or not, you're not going to be hitting her. He just kind of stopped, looked at me, crawled up front and tried to drive away."

"I was just at the right place at the right time and glad I could do something to help," Hoff said.
The victim was taken to North Memorial Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Police have identified the suspect and plan to pick him up for questioning. The man could face possible kidnapping charges."
Git ‘er done!
His name Larry?
I’m glad he helped, but this kind of situation is one where it is advisable to have a gun.
REPO MAN!!!!!
YEAH!!! Looks like the former Repo man repossessed that guy’s ex-girlfriend..good work!

Not in Minnesota, sadly.
We have no “stand your ground” law. If the cable dude had produced a weapon, he’d probably be under arrest, at least, they’d have relieved him of his property.
Just that "I'll squeeze your head till it pops" look can be very effective. I can't pull it off, except with very young airmen.

No, but I would bet that protecting the woman being beaten would qualify as grounds to brandish your firearm. However, I am not saying that a gun should be used at the beginning of the confrontation, just as a back up in case Woman Beater decided to go after Cable Guy.
I’m surprised he’s not in jail tonight.
Sadly, again, nope....
In MN you have the right to only run away and call 911. Cable Guy did the right thing by stepping up and saving this girls life. He’ll get a medal. If he had stepped into this situation with a firearm (basically, escalating the situation) I can guarantee you that he would have been felony stopped and relieved of his property. More than likely spending some quality time in the local lock-up....
MN hates heros with firearms.

He didn’t have a weapon, so that’s in his favor.....
But, as Sgt. Garcia always likes to say.....”Uhhhh...we don’t....uhhh...encourage....uhh...this sort of ....uhhh...but we’re glad that....uhhhh.......
What was the question??”
Same story in Kalifornia. Ain’t it grand when liberals run your state?
Cable guy Jason Hoff, who intervened when a man who abducted his ex-girlfriend outside her high school started fighting with her in a traffic jam in Minneapolis.
Good work Jason!
