Helter Skelter Manson as well. I DVR’d the show and watched some of it this afternoon. Like Savage, I was fuming over Linda Kasabian. She was smiling as she spoke fondly of her memory of her first encounter with Manson and the family. — Sickening.

In all due respect to Savage something has to be said on the visual presentation of the Van Jones saga versus just talking about him on radio
Beck has become a force because of his television presentations whereas he has been on the radio for awhile now without having the same impact.

I remember in the 50's when I was a kid, my dad took me to an optometrist in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. Yep, the same University of Chicago neighborhood of our community organizer in chief.
Sitting outside was a classic beatnick, beret and all.
Then the Beatles came in the 60s and the world changed for the worse.

I lived in Hyde Park in the 50’s, strangest area in all the South Side of Chicago, an interracial oasis surrounded by encroaching threatening Black neighborhoods, still that way when I left in ‘79, gotta believe all that’s changed now.

The Beatles are still in the top 2 of my all time favorite bands. I was 4 years old when I first saw them on the Ed Sullivan show. --- And yes, I really do remember it.
Quite a number Beatles songs still bring tears to my eyes after all these years.

Thanks for the reminder -- many who lived the hippie "dream" changed.
I remember David Horowitz's Ramparts magazine. His book Radical Son explained the change he went through. Technically, Ramparts wasn't hippie it was flat out communist.
