What would John F. Kennedy have done?

What would John F. Kennedy have done? See below.

Many people are scared. They are scared that Obama’s objective is to make this country into a socialist state with the government controlling more and more of our lives and with us having fewer and fewer personal liberties. Obama’s vision for America is not shared by many. How many?

There are only two polls you can really believe. Rasmussen and PEW. These two polls have been right on the money for the last two election cycles while others, NBC, CBS, CNN, Time, FOX, etc. are not as reliable.

Get the facts. Contempt prior to investigation is not the way to go. Factcheck.org is ruthless in its reporting of false statements, by anyone or any party. Check it out.

Obama says if you like your insurance you can keep it. Factcheck says it may not be so because employers may drop their coverage in mass and as many as 88 million may NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP THEIR INSURANCE (read the analysis section of “Keep your Insurance? Not everyone.)

Many people are scared of Obama today because of the direction he is taking us. JFK, a President they trusted and believed in, took America in a different direction not so many years ago.

John F. Kennedy faced a severe recession when he took office in 1961. His approach was different. In the first spring of his presidency he addressed the Congress and asked for a “TAX CUT” to stimulate investment so that we could better compete in a world economy.

The point here is that Kennedy, a Democrat, chose to stimulate the private sector. Obama has chosen to massively increase government size and control and tax the private sector. A whole lot of folks disagree with this path, probably JFK included. By the way, JFK’s tax cut was eventually passed by the Democrat controlled congress and the majority of benefactors were the small business people and wealthy, you know, the ones who, throughout our history, have invested in their own ideas, plant and equipment creating good jobs and a high standard of living that have made this country prosperous.

On April 20, 1961 JFK addressed Congress and said, in part, “The history of our economy has been one of rising productivity, based on improvement in skills, advances in technology, and a growing supply of more efficient tools and equipment. This rise has been reflected in rising wages and standards of living for our workers, as well as a healthy rate of growth for the economy as a whole. It has also been the foundation of our leadership in world markets, even as we enjoyed the highest wage rates in the world. Today, as we face serious pressure on our balance of payments position, we must give special attention to the modernization of our plant and equipment… If our own goods are to compete with foreign goods in price and quality, both at home and abroad, we shall need the most efficient plant and equipment. At the same time, to meet the needs of a growing population and labor force, and to achieve a rising per capita income and employment level, we need a high and rising level of both private and public capital formation… I am now proposing additional incentives for the modernization and expansion of private plant and equipment. Additional expenditures on plant and equipment will immediately create more jobs in the construction, lumber, steel, cement, machinery and other related capital goods industries. The staffing of these new plants-and filling the orders for new export markets-will require additional employees. The additional wages of these workers will help create still more jobs in consumer goods and service industries.” http://www.nationalcenter.org/JFKTaxes1961.html And, with history as our witness, it worked well. Obama on the other hand has put this country in debt up to our ears; Not only for us but our children and grandchildren. I do not believe they can reasonably hope to have the prosperity we enjoyed. Obama, instead of stimulating the private sector has gone the other way. He has proposed the huge tax increases. Obama himself, speaking to the editorial board of the San Francisco Chronicle on Jan. 17, 2008, said electricity costs would "necessarily skyrocket" as a result of capping emissions levels, and that his job as president would be to convince the public and Congress that benefits outweigh costs. This combined with the elimination of the Bush tax cuts will divert vast amounts of money away from the private sector and into the non-productive government coffers. Further, he and Congress propose to add significant taxes to small business people and wealthy, you know, the ones who, throughout our history, have invested in their own ideas, plant and equipment creating good jobs and a high standard of living that have made this country prosperous.

LOL! You beat me to the punch. I saw a picture someone here on FR posted of Mary Jane with about 6 other women and RFK. The Kennedys had their own bordello at their beck and call. I hope they all got an express ride to hell.

I agree with your last comment - always remind a lib or Democrat that Vietnam was JFK & LBJ’s war.

RFK later was getting it on with Jackie after Jack died. Poor old Marilyn the junkie slut probably told Jack or RFK that she wanted to be their wife and was going to go public.

Who cares? JFK was an immoral, philandering, spoiled millionaire's son who had his dad buy the WH for him so he could be a failed President. Were it not for Dallas I think JFK would make everyone's top 10 worst President's list. Bay of Pigs, Vietnam, Berlin Wall, and on and on. Mediocrity on his own merit was an unattainable goal for the playboy President.

I don’t think JFK and LBJ liked each other... but John sent the military advisers to Vietnam because everyone was worried about the dominoes theory and LBJ escalated the conflict because he was a SOB and did whatever he wanted...

LBJ did it for $$$$$. He owned part of Brown & Root which became KBR or part of Halliburton. They built all the bases in SE Asia during the war. johnson Fence company made all the fences. You know he was getting dough from all the MANy defense contractors in texas.

LBJ was the second wealthiest President after billionaire Geo Washington (adjusted for inflation). Nixon left office broke.

Oh - I also think LBJ was involved in JFK’s demise. There was too much money to be made. LBJ was one of the greediest SOBs that ever walked this earth.

I kept thinking about what you said about George... so I finally went to wiki and they said George was almost broke until he got some inheritance that gave him the land... in so many words... it appears that George got wealthy the old fashion way.

Now LBJ... I thought he was just a political animal and his wife... Lady Bird was the business genius... in fact, I heard that she gave him the money to get his political career going... but Lady Bird bought an radio station way back when to get her business going...

I guess you learn something new every day.
