Gibbs: Opponents of Obama starting 'Animal House food fight'

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs blasted the president's critics today for questioning the propriety of Obama's speech to schoolchildren.

"It's a sad state of affairs that many in this country politically would rather start an 'Animal House' food fight rather than inspire kids to stay in school, to work hard, to engage parents to stay involved and to ensure that the millions of teachers that are making great sacrifices continue to be the best in the world," Gibbs told reporters on Monday.

Someone needs to smash Gibbel’s acoustic guitar against the wall.

I saw that. He looked like Jack Nicholson sticking his head through the wall in “The Shining”.

He categorizes objections to Obama’s school speech as a food fight which if fine, just fine.

Because folks against that speech wouldn’t normally have much of an issue with a president speaking to school children. Indeed it’s been done before.

BUT WE DON’T TRUST THIS PRESIDENT!

There. That’s the part The Family Guy left out of his Jack Nicholson imitation.

Gibbs should have been named Manufacturing Czar. He has more experience than anyone on the face of the earth manufacturing Straw Men.

What a load.

Before it is pried out of my cold dead hand, I'll have all the food fights (politically) that I want to have!

To quote a screech from someone in the past....

"WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DISAGREE...."

Animal House references? You know, at least the Clintons had an evil cleverness, that while you hated it, you could at least respect the ability to carry it off. Or be afraid of it. This administration is pure pre-school.

Most of what Obama says out of that mouth is provably not true. Therefore WHY would we think his speech would inspire our children?

I have standards for education of children.

The Obamaloon meets none of these standards.

He is untrustworthy, has little intellect, has never held a job, and holds beliefs proven to be false many times over.

the millions of teachers that are making great sacrifices continue to be the best in the world,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Oh barf! “Great sacrifices”???? What’s next? Mother Teresa awards for these people?

Hm?...I don’t see teachers working at dangerous heights, in grime and dirt. They aren’t freezing and dressed in layers of super subzero clothing and wearing hard hats. They are not dripping with streaking sweaty dust and oil. They aren’t wearing pagers for phone calls for life threatening phone calls that can come any time of day or night. They wear clean nice clothing. The women can wear nylons if they want, and the men nicely pressed slacks with shiny shoes.

There are **millions** of garbage collectors making great sacrifices to brave the elements early in the morning every day, and the very lives of children and adults depend on the work they do.

There are many hard, dangerous, tiring, professions with huge responsibilities that are absolutely essential just to keep children ***alive**!

Teachers are no more important than many other people going to work to do jobs that keep children and adults healthy, alive, and safe.

And...Teachers get Sunday off and get lots of other days off, and are never forced to work on Christmas!

Finally....Where’s the evidence that they’re doing such a great job for the money paid?
