President Obama makes his school speech all about himself. Uses the word "I" 56 times.
Text of School Speech Below.
Who did you vote for?
it is in some parts of the city
I have no idea who wrote this drivel, but it needs major revision.
Anyone else notice the three kids he talked about are related to health care in some way.
Great great homepage, read up FC
1. okay, sorry
2. you watered your trollish quote way down. okay.
3. tried to tell you why his self-absoprtpion is significant
4. the “but they did it” excuse is tired.
So who did you vote for last year?
Fair enough:
Your families, your teachers, and I are doing everything we can to make sure you have the education you need to answer these questions. Im working hard to fix up your classrooms and get you the books, equipment and computers you need to learn. But youve got to do your part too. So I expect you to get serious this year. I expect you to put your best effort into everything you do. I expect great things from each of you. So dont let us down dont let your family or your country or yourself down. Make us all proud. I know you can do it.
Mr. President, as a citizen and taxpayer, I expect you to fulfill your duties under the Constitution -- no more, no less... I expect you to not usurp the authority of parents and true caregivers of our children in your pronouncements... I expect you to stand up for the U.S. and not tear it down at every opportunity to score points with your International brethren.
No, you seem overly defensive is all. Thanks for the answer. Grad student?
You know, I find myself pining for the comparative humility of Bill Clinton.
They'll all be stundents when zer0 gets done with them.
You are incorrect as to the number of "I", "me" or "my" in the addresses. If you counted Reagan's additional Q&A, there were nearly twice as many words. I compared the speeches only, which are roughly the same number of words:
Reagan speech: 2,292 words
"I" = 23 times
me = 5 times
my = 5 times
Total = 33 first-person references
Obama speech: 2,438 words
"I" = 49 times
me = 3 times
my = 10 times
Total = 62 first-person references, nearly twice as many as Reagan.
When he says it’s not about him...
And at that time, Reagan was a post-election lame duck president, not some far-left community organizer greeting the youngsters on their first day of class. This guy had a problem firing a Troofer and hides his school records, he’s in no position to preach.
Funny how he always feel the need to tell people it’s not about him after he just spent 20 minutes talking about himself.
I don't think he really cares so long as they keep protecting him from himself and pretending he's our best president ever.
In 92 sentences, comprising 2292 words, (Not counting Q&A) Reagan uses “I” 25 times, “me” five times and “my” five times, for a density of slightly more than once in 65 words (vs. 39 for 0bama).
