SAN DIEGO San Diego Chargers star outside linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested Sunday and accused of choking and restraining his girlfriend, reality TV star Tila Tequila, as she tried to leave his suburban home.
Tequila, 27, signed a citizen's arrest warrant, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment, San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Gary Steadman said.
Both are felonies.

OK - this is strange from the start.
How about the general population? Should we all withdraw from mankind because there are bad actors?
Shaun, you idiot. You have NO IDEA where that has been...
There is actually about the same percentage of assholes among NFL players as among the general population. Check FR for proof as the numbers seem to hold across the board with most groups.
So is this the Pounding she is getting for the Pounding she got? Just curious.
Before you smear this guy...the facts are on his side. He says she wanted to leave..she was drunk and he was trying to stop her from driving. He wanted her to take a cab. There was NO arrest, it was a citizen’s arrest as there was no evidence of abuse. HE HAS WITNESSES TO CORROBORATE his story.
Why anyone automatically would believe the word of this tramp is beyond me.
If you don’t like to watch don’t watch. Every segment of society has it’s 10%, so what do you want people to do? Do you want us to stay huddled in our homes because of this 10%?
If a business employed a high percentage of felons, would you still shop there?
It is no different every time you turn on the National Felon League.
(BTW, you name serves you well)
See post # 8.
10????
Try 30% or more.
I’ve wondered how many in the NFL are in trouble with the law. I saw a list once of players in legal trouble in recent years. It was a small percentage of total NFL players, however, these guys are so high profile, that any of them getting arrested is big news.
I know Commissioner Goodell is concerned that these guys give the NFL a black eye.
Well, in any sport, if the big news headlines are for something off the field, that’s going to be bad news for your public image.
Define “high percentage” and try using some actual facts.
So true - she was in a mexican gang (she was confused, first thought she was black, then thought she was mexican) as a teen, drinking/drugs at 13 and was “discovered” in the Sharpstown Mall by some sleeze searching for “girls of color” (trust me, Sharpstown Mall is bad) for Maxim or Hustler or something like that...
Startling in its breadth, Benedict and Yaeger’s investigation into the off-the-field violence and criminal behavior that pervades the culture of professional football is as eye opening as it is disturbing. That these guys get into trouble is nothing new, but when their offenses are collected in one place—with mug shots, court records, police reports, and interviews with arresting officers—the effect is as surreal as the statistics: 21 percent of the NFL’s players have been charged with a serious crime.

I’m with you. NFL athletes are nothing more than a bunch of overpaid gangsta thugs.
Oh no, I think you have a really good idea where that’s been and no one in his right mind would go near it without a double hazmat suit.
Why is everyone believing the uber-skank Nguyen? Merriman’s lawyer said there was a dozen people at the house who said it never happened.
