Back in the early 80s, I was the only white guy in a 10-piece funk band. I remember auditioning for a job in a black night club. The club-owner looked at me and asked the leader of the band, “Is this a mixed band?” When the leader said, “Yes,” the club-owner looked at me and asked, “How mixed?”
I’ve seen both sides of racism. It’s ugly from either end.

Yes, decades ago I played in a band that visited a local black club at the invite of their house band... we were actually a much better R&B, funk, and Soul band than they were... and they knew it... and the owner shown us his racism in a very overt way... but our sitting in went so well that his patrons would have cut him from elbow to appetite if he had run us off. Today he has a local daily radio talk show, where his racism is is on display for all to see... he is a commie rabble-rouser and promotes obama and the destruction of the white race every day. They are out there and they are mean and nasty.
