President Obama to Appoint Ron Bloom Manufacturing Czar
ABC ^ | 9/6/09 | Jake Tapper

Posted on 09/06/2009 9:39:56 PM PDT by Nachum

In Cincinnati tomorrow, President Obama will announce that he's appointing Ron Bloom his Senior Counselor for Manufacturing Policy, White House sources tell ABC News.

Bloom is currently Senior Advisor to Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner as a member of the President’s Task Force on the Automotive Industry, named to that position in February. He will remain in that position even while he takes on his new task.

A key part of the team that advised the White House on the struggling U.S. auto industry, Bloom and team pushed U.S. automakers General Motors and Chrysler to come up with viable plans for the future, pushed the CEO of GM to resign, and pushed the U.S. government agreed to become a major shareholder in GM, ponying up $50 billion.

Another damn czar and Harvard man.

Mr. Bloom attended Harvard Business School, where he gravitated to populist business cases and was keenly interested in employee buyouts. After 10 years at investment banks, among them Lazard, he became special assistant to the USW president in 1996.

Ron Bloom is already a czar of salaries. This is the second czar-ship. It brings the number of czars to 43.

I don’t think it’s right that the U.S. taxpayers are being forced into paying for these “czars.” Their salaries should be coming out of Baracko’s pocket. We don’t want or need these ***holes in Washington.

Just what is the government’s role in manufacturing other than to regulate it to the point that it can barely function?

Ohy, another spread the wealth fool!
SEIU, Single Payer, Social Justice, Yadda Yadda Yadda

Bloom’s background and focus!

For 74 years, the JLC has served as the bridge linking the Jewish community and organized labor in a shared commitment to economic and social justice.

You can be a part of this historic tradition of working together to advance the cause of the Jewish people and to help create a better future for all.

Is there a problem with involvement in furthering Zionist causes in America? Well, that’s debatable. However, since the Zionist Labor movement is a socialist movement, there is a cause for concern seeing that he could be in charge of overseeing all major manufacturing activity in America.

Today the real impediments to long-term profitability lie largely outside the collective bargaining arena… Health Care Costs… management must support universal single-payer national health care, A universal single-payer system, whether financed through general revenue or even a payroll tax, would result in significantly higher profits for the steel industry… Energy Policy … It is time to support a comprehensive national energy program.

Those are not the words of a free-trade advocate, but that of a social engineer. Yes, socialism has been a part of his life since he was a child. Besides, why was he writing for the Democratic Socialist of America Newsletter.

Here is some of Bloom’s related work experience in no particular order:

* Executive Director of the Massachusetts Coalition for Full Employment
* Research and negotiating specialist for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
* The New England Regional Director of the Jewish Labor Committee, a multi-issue organization that acts as a liaison betweenthe labor movement and the Jewish community
* Since 1996, Ron Bloom has served as a Special Assistant to the President of the United Steelworkers of America (USWA)heads the Union’s Corporate Research, Industry Analysis and Pattern Bargaining Department

Do you reckon anyone will ask

” Your other czars are doing so well, what do you think of this new one, and why exactly is this lack of Congressional oversight necessary?”

Okay I read the title and my first thought was that Obama was going to appoint another Czar who doesn't know a damn thing about the area he's appointed to. I though that this guy probably has never worked in a factory or in engineering or anything remotely tied to manufacturing. But then I said to myself, don't jump to conclusions. Maybe Obama has learned his lesson and will appoint someone who actually knows something. Before I got through the comments my suspicions were again proven correct. Unbelievable, just another scum of the earth lawyer. Incredible. I'm beginning to doubt Obama's sanity. He's not learning from his mistakes.

We need to pound on this theme. He appoints a car czar who has never changed a set of spark plugs. He appoints a green jobs czar who knows nothing about energy. He appoints a manufacturing czar who know nothing about manufacturing. The common thread is that they are all attorneys. Words fail me.

Did Bloom actually graduate Harvard Business School? With this group of Democrats you have to parse every statement in headline. I notice that they use the word “attended” when referring to HBS. That may be significant.

Years ago when Philly elected Wilson Goode as mayor the local Media made a big deal about his having “attended the Wharton School of Business” at the University of Pennsylvania. Turns out he took some kind of non-degree program. The clear impression that the Goode Campaign wanted to give to the public was that he had earned something when he really hadn’t.

OK. I found a bio on Bloom. It lists him as having completed an MBA at Harvard Business.
