You can bet your sweet bippy that those guys didn’t know that was going to be used to pimp der fuhrer’s indoctrination speech. I know at least three of them that are hardcore conservatives.

The kids will be told after viewing the NASCAR message that they will have to write a paper saying how glorious NASCAR is and how they will help NASCAR bring about CHANGE.

I watched the message from some of my favorite racers and find nothing inconsistent in promoting valid reasons for staying in school. It is a shame that some of our fellows here at FR will take issue with these drivers.
Not one mention of Obama nor any of his initiatives in their positive message.

NASCAR has done this sort of thing since the days of Carter. I think Ronald Reagan gave Junior Johnson a pardon.

NASCAR drivers: men who work for a living.

If Jeff Gordon says it you can believe it.

Does anyone have the original student’s worksheet for the speech? I saw it once but can’t remember where. I would like to see it again because I don’t think it sounded anything like a ‘stay in school’ speech follow-up.

At least they are qualified to give the kids a message. These people have earned their money.

I remember when I was in elementary school (PS 71) back in da Bronx watching a short movie by Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris giving us the stay in school and stay out of trouble message. No biggie here, even though my dear old Dad was a hard core Mets fan through thick and thin :)

Using NASCAR Drivers huh, reminds of the the scene in The Simpson's Movie when Tom Hanks says, “Hello, I'm Tom Hanks. The US Government has lost its credibility so it's borrowing some of mine.” It's sad and embarassing.
