The resignation Sunday of Van Jones, White House environmental jobs "czar," is as much a cable TV story as it is a Washington political one.
Jones, who was appointed by President Barack Obama to a high level position as a special adviser on "green jobs" and the environment, has been exposed in recent weeks for using coarse and reckless language in public meetings and signing a petitition that suggested members of former President George W. Bush's administration might have known about the 9/11 attacks in advance and still allowed them to happen.
The media entity that first brought much of the information to light that led to Jones resignation -- information that the Obama administration either didn't know about or knowingly looked away from in appointing him -- wasn't NBC or ABC News or even the "New York Times." It was controversial Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck, who has a bit of a history with Jones.
What kind of history?
An organization, ColorOfChange, that Jones co-founded, launched a boycott against Beck's show -- and it has generated considerable publicity. ColorOfChange launched the boycott after Beck described President Obama as a "racist" on air.

Glenn, even in civilian off-camera life, would NEVER demean and slander our country, her history, traditions, system and beacon of freedom and economic excellence it's always been to the world.
He certainly wouldn't be the coarse, vicious, hostile, radical and crude animal Van Jones is ... in any part of his life.
On another note, Van Jones has the capacity to spew racial hatred against the white man and his progeny, and I fully expect him to continue his bombastic participation in some other position. Yet, he married a white woman. What must it she feel, hearing his racist hate speech worthy of Jeremiah Wright and how does he rationalize this to his children of a white mother?
The racist isn’t Glenn Beck. It’s Van Jones. And, of course, Barack Hussein Obama.
Nothing wrong with calling Obama a racist, since it happens to be true and can be thoroughly documented.
Not just things that Van Jones said and did before his appointment. Things that Van Jones was FAMOUS for doing before he was appointed. And, presumably, they are exactly the reason that he WAS appointed.
OK, so he’s an arsehole. We knew that. WHAT happens next? Where’s the 30 billion, yes, billion fiat dollars that this racist had for his “pleasure” to use? He ain’t gone, he’s just been moved to another “department” within the FED. Someone - PLEASE - Follow up on his every move. Next, expose the rest of the Csars for what the are - Communists first, then TRAITORS, second. I’ve got plenty of tar and feathers. And, I’m ready.
I can just imagine the smell in that room. Makes you want to hurl.
..... good shoot'in Glenn.
Yikes...talk about a stretch!
BECK
verb (used with object)
To destroy the political career of someone by repeatedly using the target's own recorded words to vilify themselves.
Origin:
2009, Americanism; after Glenn Beck forced the resignation of an 0bama Czar by using film clips and sound bites.
Example:
Van Jones was BECKed this week.
GOOD one!
I’ve not seen ONE “news” report on Van Jones’ resignation which acknowledges the fact that Jones is an admitted communist, yet each and every story I’ve seen has mentioned the a-hole incident.
Frankly, who cares that he called Republicans a rude name.
It’s politically incorrect to even so much as mention that he has self-identified as a communist.
We are in so much trouble.
And what better day to launch that new word than on "V-J Day" (Van Jones Day), 6 September 2009 ??
The MSM will spin this every way possible, so as to hide that Obama and his administration and handlers are all communists. I would expect nothing less.
I wasn’t talking about their differing viewpoints, as I’ve said at least 4 times now. They have differing view points, most probably about everything.
I’m comparing their temperaments, which seem similar to me.
Fine. We agree to disagree.
He was removed over what he said. Or at least, what he said whas what initially brought scrutiny to him and then more was found out about him.
