President Obama and the US Secretary of State fuelled a fierce American backlash against Britain, claiming Abdelbaset Al Megrahi should have been forced to serve out his jail sentence in Scotland – but a senior Whitehall aide said their reaction was ‘disingenuous’.
British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return.
The officials say the Americans spoke out because they were taken aback by the row over Megrahi’s release, not because they did not know it was about to happen.
What did Obama know and when did he know it?

One would have to be extremely naive to believe that. The Brits aren’t Saints by any means when it comes to planting disinformation to attain a specific goal, but in this case there has been enough investigative media coverage of the events leading up to the release (after the fact I might add), and considering the players and their history that it’s most believable that Obama and Hillary are lying.

This statement is diplomatese. So they were kept informed. Maybe.
No where in the leak does it say that once informed, Obama approved of the release. Or Hillary. No mention of their reactions at all.
They were informed = they agreed: not logical.
In other words, O and Clinton tried to pull a “Pelosi”.
Hillary and President Obama were informed, they disagreed aggressively with this decision = Brits release anyways: Not Logical
Of course they knew.
I wouldn’t surprise me if O asked for the release.
And that’s the truth.
This is no different than the “Outrage” Obama expressed regarding AIG bonuses. Fanning the flames of socialism, even though he knew full well (and so did his Treasury man) that the bonuses were to be issued.

It’s kind of weird that you begin by insulting me, but that after some superfluous bloviation you end up agreeing with the point I made.
I dont blame them for being mad. Of course Hillary and “the One” knew all about it. Holder was told in June.
If they didnt want it to happen they should have complained back then.
