EAST MORICHES, N.Y. (CBS) ― An allegedly drunk driver brought down part of a house in Suffolk County when he crashed through the home's second floor.
Police say the allegedly drunk driver ran a stop sign and hit a berm, causing the SUV to be catapulted action-movie style. From the second floor, the vehicle dropped down to the first floor vertically, with it's headlights pointing toward the sky.
Homeowner John Sarli says he's lucky to be alive. He was the only person at the home, sleeping on a couch in the den when he heard the crash and the sound of glass breaking.
Police arrested the driver of the car. He's identified as 20-year-old Adam Clark of East Moriches, and he had minor injuries.
He has been charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Which one is a crime in New York?
I think that would apply in my case also.
Haven’t had to try and ‘splain things like that since I quit. :)
We’re still watching you.
Joey Chitwood wannabe?
*looks guilty*
Possessed appliances are my fault.
(That was proven. Despite my denial.)
But flying cars?
Whole other ballgame there.
I thought you were expanding your horizons.
After his arraignment Saturday in First District Court in Central Islip, at which Clark was ordered locked up on $1,000 bail, his father said he was relieved no one got hurt.
“It’s just one of these unfortunate things,” said the dad, who did not give his name. “These kids have growing pains.”
The dad insisted his son, who he said had attended Westhampton Beach High School, is not a fast driver. He said his son has “always been a good kid” and “never was in bad trouble.”
During the arraignment, Clark said, “I’m very, very sorry for everything I caused.”
Police seized a blood sample from Clark, who reeked of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, was unsteady on his feet and failed a succession of field sobriety tests, they said.
Clark and his passenger, Richard Mailand, 20, of East Moriches, were brought to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, checked over for minor injuries and released, police said.
Thanks for the update kc. It was a weird news story. I have never seen a car “fly” like than into a building. Maybe he will run for the vacant senate seat in MA!

Now, that’s funny!
Well... did it have Ion drive?
I’d like to experiment with ultra-high thrust ion engines.
And then rain ion engine flying doom cars down onto my enemies...
