Associated Press ^ | Sep 5, 2009 | Mark Williams

Soon to be followed with “rate hikes needed to make up for revenue shortfalls”.

This is an idiotic post. Demand for electricity WILL go up. The decline is temporary. As soon as there is some type of recovery we will get an increase in demand and prices will go up.

Start building nuclear power plants- now!

Another piece of state run “media” garbage intended to set us up for their Cap’n Tax scam.

I wouldn't mind seeing demand go down if that would be as a result of increased efficiency. Free enterprise is dynamic and ever more productive.

This piece is just an excuse for “cap and trade” which will jack up our rates but good.

How does this set us up? I didn't see anything that's not true. And I hope that prediction of a relatively warm winter is true.

How so? What did you see that is not straight business reporting?

Won't happen! Population growth will swamp any efficiencies we will come up with. Electricity Demand will go up at some point and sooner rather than later.

Remember we are still importing 1 million immigrants/year legally and millions more illegally. There's no escaping demographics.

Wait until Cap’n Trade hears about this. He’ll jam electricity prices so high up the mast you’ll have to sell the house to light your Christmas tree!

Well. It’s like this. Now that we are all saving money on our electical bills, it’s okay for the government to pass Cap’n Tax. Cap’n Tax will just take our utility bills back up to the amount we were paying before so we won’t miss that money. And we’ll be “saving the planet” too! A twofer.

Seems to me electricity prices will hinge on fuel prices. What’s fuel doing now? It’s going down isn’t it?

With one of the coolest summers in years and low to non existent sun spot activity the chance of a "warm" winter is pretty remote.

Another thing, one of the main reasons electrical use is down is due to the decline of American businesses. This just underscores how many companies have gone out of business. It is also a results of many people who have stopped using their TVs due to the digital change over and some who stopped using all TVs and other recreational devices due to loss of jobs. I know of no one personally who have made a conscious effort to save electricity.

So this guy is just an Obama-Gore stooge for reporting the news?

This has been the coolest summer I can remember here. We're getting upper 60's and low 70's for daytime highs (should be 80's with occasional 90's) and 40's and 50's for lows.

This means a LOT less air-conditioning...our biggest electricity user. Al Gore would never admit it, but at least for right now, there seems to be global cooling.
