Obama Urged to Rally Support for War

WASHINGTON -- The White House is facing mounting pressure from lawmakers to work harder to rally flagging public support for the war in Afghanistan.

With casualties rising, the administration is struggling to persuade voters that the war can be won or is worth the human and financial costs. Afghanistan is President Barack Obama's top foreign-policy priority, but recent polls show that a majority of voters oppose the war for the first time since the conflict began eight years ago.

Yeah, I think it’s funny that Obama has to turn against his own left-wing, anti-war supporters, and seek out America’s conservatives to support his failed strategy in Afghanistan.

I think it’s hilarious. The townhall discussions about the health care bill have crippled Obama. His plunging poll numbers prove it. All we have to do now is sit on the sidelines, keep our mouths shut, and let Obama’s own supporters finish him off.

Well, its kinda hard to build support for a war when you have your Attorney General trying to put CIA agents in prison.

I feel sorry for the troops. They can't trust the Commander in Chief. They know the intel they depend upon might be compromised or lacking. They see Obama's flunkies out trashing them in the media as mental defectives and murderers. Takes a real patriot to stick this out.

We’ve been in Afghanistan for eight years. The Soviet Union lasted ten years.

Until Reagan came along.

The troops may be facing a day in the not too distant future in which they have to choose to protect the politicians from the people or the people from the politicians.

I have a daughter in Afghanistan (for the 2nd time)...1st time there she could shoot at the enemy when she recognized them...

This time, she has to carry on a dialogue with them while dodging their bullets, if possible...

And no matter what, don’t pee on their poppies...

Yes, get them out of there as fast as we can...

“The president, unfortunately, because of the crush of everything else, hasn’t talked about Afghanistan all that much,” said Sen. Bob Casey, a centrist Democrat from Pennsylvania

Tommy Vietor, an administration spokesman, said that “the president talks about Afghanistan all the time.”

Asked recently on CNN’s “State of the Union” whether the president had sufficiently explained U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, Sen. Richard Lugar (R., Ind.) said, “No.”

I think many people think what I think, and that is that ostammer is incapable of reaching and not desirous of achieving victory in Afghanistan, and therefore the war just becomes a slaughterhouse of our precious service members and a financial drain. Nobody felt this way until lately, so it’s fairly obvious that the people have no confidence in ostammer’s ability or even desire to achieve success in Afghanistan.

If we abandon Afghanistan again, we know what the outcome will be. We either get a stable anti-terrorist regime in Kabul, or we get the Taliban and Al Qaeda again. It’s ridiculous to have spent all our human resources for that outcome.

Zero tries to find his inner “warmonger”. This could get very interresting.

I am sure the loyal liberal RAT groups like Moveon.org, Kos and Code Pink will answer the call taking up the fight to push and more clearly justify Zero’s war.
