Bay Area environmental activist and White House adviser Van Jones is under attack from Republicans for signing a 2004 petition calling for a Congressional investigation into the actions of the administration of former President George Bush surrounding the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs offered lukewarm support for Jones Friday, saying only that "he continues to work in this administration."
Meanwhile, Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo., called for a probe Friday into the "fitness" of Jones, who signed a 2004 petition by 911Truth.org, which wants attention paid to "unanswered questions that suggest that people within the (Bush) Administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war."
Jones, a Yale Law School graduate, said in a statement Friday, "I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever."
That wasn't enough for Bond, the ranking Republican on the Senate subcommittee on Green Jobs and the New Economy. On Friday, he asked for a hearing "to reassure the American people that their government is safe from (Jones') divisive, incendiary and ultimately counterproductive sentiments."
Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., said Friday that Jones should resign because "his extremist views and coarse rhetoric have no place in this administration or the public debate."

Ho! Ho! Ho! Green Czar!
He is friends with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and former Vice President Al Gore and has appeared at forums at UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law.
This year, Time magazine named Jones one of the 100 most influential people in the world.!
Initially I thought he should be fired. But now, after sufficient cumulative evidence of his stupidity has emerged, I think it’s best we leave him right where he is so he can get all the slow-roasted flavor he deserves!
questions that suggest that people within the (Bush) Administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen,
LIHOP or MIHOP?
Demoxrats think someone is vetted if they have a party card.
What happens when a Marxist Czar is no long humorous?..
Every single one of Obama’s czars should be hounded out of office.
SHHSSHHHHHHHHH....everyone....quiet down....let’s let him cook a little longer!!!

This red czar must go. This communist prick epitomizes the quality of picks that Obama makes. What a pile.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Special Adviser on Green Jobs and White House Council on Environmental Quality!
The longer this farce plays out, the better it is for us. This character Jones has so much baggage that it will take weeks for it to dribble out.
Obama is probably a one-man support system for Jones among his upper echelon of advisers. I’d bet that most want this turkey gone yesterday.
Please don’t post the remainder of an excerpted article in the comments. The authors complain - rightly - that it steals hits from their sites (and their advertisers). Thanks.
I was remembering James Watt today (not the steam engine guy). For you younger people, he was Sec’y of the Interior under Reagan who got fired for joking about the diversity of his staff: “I have a black, a woman, two Jews and a cripple. And we have talent.” In a stupidly ham-fisted way he praised the minorities and he got dumped. We get a new racist Van Jones about every day, and the old-guard media are silent.
“Ho! Ho! Ho! Green Czar!”
That’s hilarious. Wish I thought of it.
It’s funnier when Glenn Beck does it. He’s got an echo and reverb.
My favorite Glenn Beck bit was when he showed the Chairman of the Black Chamber of Commerce ripping Barbara Boxer. Beck showed the clip while eating pudding saying that sometimes you should eat your dessert first.
Thank God for Van Jones. He shines bright light on Obama for those that didn’t already see.
Yes indeed...we’ve got a racist, a facist, probably a Marxist and Commie running the friggen country. You dems will pay...all of you!
Your only salvation :YOU initiate impeachment.
