This is a letter from Congressman Ron Paul to his supporters. Please take the time to read it, and visit Debra Medina's website: www.medinafortexas.com
She is currently on running as a Republican in the race for Texas Governor 2010.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Defender of Liberty,
I would like to introduce you to a good friend of mine, Debra Medina. I have known Debra for over ten years and have always been impressed by her drive and commitment to principle. Debra has been a real defender of Liberty both in her home town of Wharton and across the state of Texas.
Debra has for years been a key supporter and member of my campaign team. As chairman of the Wharton County Republican Party, she has stood up to the big government establishment and fought to hold our party accountable to our platform and our conservative Texas values. Because of her leadership and organizational skills, I asked Debra to serve on the board of directors of my national grassroots action group, Campaign for Liberty, where she has played an important role in our fight to defend our Constitution.
In addition to her political accomplishments, I am proud of Debra for the person she is. Debra Medina is a loving wife, a home school mother of two talented honor students, and a successful business owner. Debra is a true success story and role model for Texans across our state.
I am proud to call Debra Medina a friend, and as a fellow Texan, I encourage you to get to know her. Debra is exploring a run for higher office and would appreciate your input on her effort. You can learn more about her at www.medinafortexas.com.

The massive spending and deficits of the Obama Administration are giving Libertarians new credibility.
I have some libertarian views but would never vote for someone like Ron Paul who doesn’t understand foreign affairs and national security.
There are only two real parties. The others are spoilers, and will always remain so. I learned this when I left the Democrats and became a Republican after being Declined to State. I know it isn’t popular to state this, but sometimes the truth hurts. I value truth.
Good point, but foreign policy is not something that a Governor deals with.
Kay Bailey Hutchinson will be resigning from the Senate soon. Rick Perry would score a lot of points with conservatives if he appoints Michael Williams to succeed her.
Ron Paul and company run as Republicans when they are really Liberterians. They can’t get elected otherwise, so they run to us when they need credibility. Deceitful. This is not to say that there are not Republicans with some Liberterian views within the Party. I’m talking about hardcore Liberterians.
Actually, he does understand national security and foreign affairs. I don't want to give 3rd world crapholes millions of dollars in aid and our troops digging ditches either.

Sorry but libertarian-minded Republicans are the future of the GOP. In case you haven't seen all those Tea Parties and town halls out there of people questioning their government, who do you think inspired them? Certainly not Mitt Romney.
Ron Paul doesn’t understand foreign affairs and national security? WHAT?!?! Because he believes war should be declared by congress as per the constitution? Because he understands the root of Balkanization?
Let’s see, who were the five main Republican candidates of 2008?
Guliani= noun+verb=9/11
Romney= public option favoring RINO
McCain= aging sleazebag RINO
Huckabee= a decent man but as former Arkansas governor reminds me of Clinton
Paul= one of the last original Reaganites
Really it should have come down to either the decent man or the Reaganite. Why Republicans tried to elect one of two RINOs I’ll never know.
Freepmail me or ping me from the original thread to get on/off the 2010 Texas Governor's Race ping list.
Right on target!
I would rather deal with a Libertarian Republican than a Socialist Republican (rino).
Texas freepers don’t like Perry.
Medina could get more support than I thought.
