San Marcos: Two Teens Dead, One Hurt in Shooting Newsroom 9/4/2009
Two Luling teenagers are dead and a third seriously wounded after they were shot by a resident in an attempted home invasion early Friday in San Marcos. The shootings happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Chestnut Street on the west side of San Marcos. One 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and a second 16-year old died at Central Texas Medical Center. A third teen, also 16, was transported to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin with serious wounds.
Police are withholding the identities of the teenagers as the investigation continues. A fourth teen, who was uninjured, has been arrested in connection with the home invasion with charges pending.
According to Chief of Police Howard Williams, police responded to a call of a home invasion with shots fired at 1:52 a.m. Friday. When police arrived, they found several people shot by a resident of the home.
Three residents were in the home at the time of the incident and were not injured. Police did not release the names of the residents. The investigation is continuing.
Guns lead to dead “children”. < /sarc >
Of course, for the statistic, they count persons up to age 25 as “children” just as they count up to age 19 as “teen pregnancies” which is why we have seen the headline “teen pregnancies decline after age 25”.
If these kids had tried this in the People's Republic of Massachusetts instead of Texas, they would probably still be alive.
good shooting, shame one got away completely unharmed. Should have taken the injured one to the hospital in a wagon pulled by a horse. If so, they would be approaching a hospital about now.
ping for followup reading...
Too bad the third perp is alive. But I guess it is not too much to ask that the other two are dead!
The only thing criminals are afraid of is someone with a gun.
Kindly old-grandmother loved by one and all: not very many quality of life years left. Time to take the blue pill.
I know I’m cold, but this kind of thing needs to happen more often. When the perceived risk to the criminals is high enough, the crime rate will drop.(In other words, the criminally inclined will make different decisions....)
hh
Prayers for the homeowner. Even though he/she was defending their family, they have to live with killing another person. Can’t be easy no matter what the reason. Also, prayers that this homeowner won’t face any charges.
Short on facts for the teen invaders here, unfortunately I expect either a Tyrone, Pablo, or Juan will be mentioned in the police report.
Statistics was one of my favorite subjects.
Amen to that.
Luling and San Marcos are in Texas...close to Austin.
Good shooting and no consequences to the resident because in Texas you can shoot anyone on your property in the middle of the night.
Linky no worky.
I think this article is trying to say that four teenagers perpetrated a home invasion, then two of them were shot to death by their intended victim, one is still alive in hospital, and the fourth one was arrested. Is this another example of liberal liars twisting facts to pursue an agenda?
Oops ... I thought this happened in San Marcos, California... Now, however, given it came from a source called “KLBJ,” I guess it happened in Texas.
I love happy endings!
I wonder if the uninjured, and the wounded one if he survives will be charged with manslaughter, since there were deaths as a result of their crimes.
Misleading headline of the day......................
I kinda like a wagon with no springs pulled over rough terrain where each jolt to the wounded perp would be a painful one. Of course the trail taken to the hospital will be the longest one.
