Looking at some demographics, it’s a safe bet that Republicans are very much in the minority there - roughly 50% black, 50% white. The city actually appears to be split between Spratt’s 5th district and the 6th district (Jim Clyburn).
The SC unemployment rate and the Sanford TV show it’s hard to put a good face on the Republican party at this time, even with O’s help.
