Lakshmi('s)...mental age is said to be only around eight.

She became pregnant after allegedly being raped in a government-run care home, and the state authorities petitioned the local courts to allow them to carry out an abortion. ... But then came the twist - her lawyers and several disability rights groups appealed to the Supreme Court. It overruled the original judgement - allowing her to have the baby she said she wanted to keep.

I think the girl has a wonderful soul and will be a wonderful mother.

No bitterness about her rape, and heartwarming love for the child.

What a beautiful conclusion to a horrible beginning for this Woman and her soon to be Family, the Lord works in the most beautiful ways, and can flip the most horrible situations into something wonderful.

A new bloodline of a family based on love, with a Woman overcoming the evil of rape and having love for the result of it.

My daughter is retarded. I don’t know why, what it is about them, but, the ones I know seem to have a level of being able to forgive, that should put the rest of us to shame.

Could be because they may not have the capacity to lie, deceive, beguile, and therefore, act in their own selfish interests. All stellar qualities of us normal people dontcha know...

By the way, my nephew is mentally disabled. He's involved in some group that performs plays twice a year. These are some of the best human beings you would ever want to meet.

People who advocate some kind of cleansing of these gifts from God, are simply inhuman animals. Monsters is what they are.

I totally agree with that. You’d have to be a monster do even think like that, it’s shameful and about as low as you can get.

Hi MsLady, I know what you mean, it just shows how that, the farther we move away from our core being, the more inhumane we can sometimes become.

I worked voluntary at a School for kids and young adults with severe issues like cerebral palsy, and after being very daunted at first, I found it a wonderful experience and very rewarding, it changed my uneducated view about people with such issues forever, and I now have some great, long term friends from it.

Girl Suffers Forced Abortion in Italy

Minors have no “right to choose” life in Catholic nation

http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2007/feb/07021904.html

By Peter J. Smith

TURIN, Italy, February 19, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - An Italian judge ordered a 13 year-old girl to undergo an abortion, despite the girl’s pleas to let her keep her child reports the Italian news agency, La Stampa.

The girl, Valentina, had become pregnant by her 15 year-old boyfriend, however rather than let her choose to keep her child, her parents demanded she have an abortion on the grounds that she was ruining her life by becoming a mother.

“You cannot hold this child ... you must abort, and father will never have to know,” Valentina’s mother told her, saying that she did not have the money to support the child.

Despite Valentina’s repeated attempts to make her parents understand she wanted to choose to keep her baby, the case went to the Court of Minors. Judge Giuseppe Cocilovo then issued the ruling to abort Valentina’s child.

Under Italian law, a minor may not decide whether to keep or abort her child, and may be forced by her guardians or parents to undergo an abortion.

However, the abortion has meant nothing less than disaster for Valentina, who was confined to the psychiatric unit of Regina Margherita children’s hospital in Turin after the abortion for wanting to commit suicide.

“You have made me kill, and now I kill myself, I kill myself”, cried Valentina. “I do not want here to be,” Valentina repeated. “I am not crazy, I am only evil like a dog for what my parents and the judges have obliged to make to me.”

The case of Valentina is an egregious case of forced abortion in Italy, where one would expect that a woman‘s “right to choose” would mean the possibility of choosing life. However, the silence of purportedly “pro-choice” feminist groups has been deafening thus far over 13 year-old Valentina’s forced abortion, despite her very own choice that her body should carry life.

They are loving individuals, that's for sure. They don't care what you look like or your status.

I had a relative that once said to me, "but, what will her life be like. Wouldn't she have been better off not being born." My answer was, first, she doesn't have a clue she has a problem. Her world is fun and enjoyable, the only time my daughter ever cries is right after she's had a seizure. She is general happy and cheerful. The most important thing of all is, God loves her, she happens to be one of His children. To Him she's just as important as the President of the United States.
