China will parade five new missiles in a show of military prowess on the 60th anniversary of Communist Party rule.

Chinese state media said that nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles, conventional cruise missiles, and an array of medium and short range missiles would be put on public display for the first time.

"These missiles are domestically designed and manufactured and have never been officially reported before," said a source from the Second Artillery Force. He added that the missiles were "second generation" and were all battle-ready.

He added that China was currently developing a third generation of missiles and was catching up with the United States and Russia in terms of its technology.

"Our second generation can match their third and fourth generations, and the third generation under development is comparable to their fifth and sixth generations," he said.

Weapon experts are hoping to see the Dongfeng 41, known as the DF-41, and the CSS-X-10, which is said to be a third-generation, solid-fuel, intercontinental ballistic missile. The Julang 2 could also make a show. The missile is said to have a range of around 5,000 miles and is designed to be launched from nuclear submarines.

The parade through Beijing on October 1, the official anniversary of the Communist Party's ascension, will showcase the strength of the 2.3 million-strong People's Liberation Army. In March, China unveiled a military budget for 2009 of £43 billion. The parade will be followed by a pageant involving 200,000 participants and over 60 floats.

Both China and their ally Russia continue massive military buildups and saber rattling. They both conducted Peace Mission 2009. And, surprisingly, both of their economies are recovering faster than ours even though they took larger initial hits. And yet, we don’t build our defenses.

Russia’s economy is in the toilet and China may not be far behind. Plus our defense budget is many many times larger than theirs combined.

" "How about them guidance systems ?""

After The Bent One, Hazel O'Leary, Johnny Chung and Lorimar got done with them, they were good for miniaturization, synchronous orbit, and neutron bombs.

"These missiles are domestically designed and manufactured and have never been officially reported before,"

Using stolen Western tech and intel.

OTOH, China started building rockets over 750 years ago; it's about time they perfected them.

I wonder oif Obama is "deeply concerned"?

"Rocket Science is actually not all that tough..."

The question is "How about them guidance systems?"

They pretty much answered it when they did a bull's-eye on one of their orbiting weather satellites, with a missile from their mainland, a couple of years ago.

I think Lorimar is a film company. It was Loral that delivered US guidance system to china in exchange for money for Clinton.
