Authorities are searching for a healthcare reform supporter who they said bit off the fingertip of a 65-year-old man during a fight at a MoveOn.org rally in Thousand Oaks.
The incident occurred about 7 p.m. Wednesday at a "We Can't Afford to Wait Vigil" organized by affiliates of the activist group MoveOn.org, which drew supporters of President Obama's healthcare plan, said Senior Deputy Eric Buschow of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. The rally also attracted several counter-protesters, he said.
During the rally at Lynn Road and Hillcrest Drive, near the Oaks Mall, the suspect and William James Rice got into a heated argument and began fighting. Rice, of Newbury Park, punched the suspect after the man called him an "idiot," Buschow said.
At that point, the suspect bit off part of Rice's left pinkie, Buschow said.

I knew those moveon.org vermin had to be involved in this. Thousand Oaks is VERY Conservative, no way would there be people there that support this crap. So now these moveon.org idiots are showing up in Conservative areas causing trouble, what else is knew
Beyond any sense of doubt Nancy Pelosi knew this was planned.
I hope Rice received a rabies shot...
My cell takes stills and/or audio and/or video. I'd think I'd be in combat mode with little care for media if a 65 year old man was being attacked near me. Hell, I'd be in the middle of it in a heartbeat. Then again, "act too fast to let the other side react" is the Alinsky way, comrade.
My cell takes photos and video but you haven’t showed me how to use it... or how to retrieve them after...
I just got a refresher course from my kids. They taught me how to send a text message a few months ago. Maybe some day I can teach them how to mail a letter to pay a bill. Ya right.
It’s good to see that the LA Times took only two days to get the story right. Their first story, that the man who lost his finger was an Obama supporter, was “too good to verify”. Thank God for the alternative media.
